*Nathalas smiles as he recalls the events of the past weeks*

In preparation for the Magincian Holiday Bazaar, Nathalas had spent some time at the Basilica, doing his best to convince a Blacksmith of Magincian origin to take time out of her busy schedule and craft him a proper suit of armor, to help him better represent the Republic.

It was important to him, because he felt ashamed to have shown up to Eclyse and Kayle's wedding looking as he did, when he saw that the other guests attending had put a lot of effort into their attire. Since he only recently had taken to arms, Nathalas was not a wealthy man. He had spent most of his days under the tutorship of the other members and leaders of the Republic of Magincia, and had not had any time to prepare for such a public function.

This time, was going to be different. It had to be, if he was to have any proper future in the guild. For his own honor, at the very least.

It took him weeks of work to raise the funds necessary for such a purchase. He needed to earn enough to buy both plenty of materials, and a proper crafters tribute. Nothing less would do, this was too important.

Being a journeyman swordsman, not many would need his help. Nathalas traveled long and hard, looking for landowners that might need his assistance. North of Britain, he was finally hired to help a local Lord stop Ettin raids on his lands. He was mostly alone on his quest, and it took him many days to bring down the Ettin clan leader. It was not done without help, however. A mage of some skill, Simon the Seer, also hired by the Lord, had aided him accomplish a task otherwise too dangerous for him. The clan had based its operations out of Despise, where many such clans still remain to continue to harass the free peoples. The task of cleansing out that entire mountain range was far beyond his skills.. A quest for a day far away.

The meeting went well. The Blacksmith agreed to his request, and provided him with a most excellently crafted set of armor, and clothing to accomodate. He looked at himself dressed in his new armor and smiled, he hoped his efforts would not go unnoticed. It was the very best he could afford, and he was proud of his accomplishment.

The day came when the Magincian Holiday Bazaar was due. It was going to be a grand event, his first true public appearance for the guild! He had managed to enlist Simon the Seer to aid in bringing the many guests to the location, a reward granted by the Lord as a token of gratitude for the successful quest.

As people from afar arrived at the Parliament, Nathalas' assignment was to stand ready in case there was to be fighting with the many horrible beasts that have infested the Island, on orders by General Cuthbert himself. Besides that, he would greet the guests alongside the intriguing Meegan, who was eager to cause him a bit of trouble in the mischievous way that seemed to cling to her like a second skin.

Many people of great importance were present at the event. His duty prevented him from mingling with them beyond a little bit of shopping near the end of the event, and helping Meegan keep Addie satisfied. The fighting was done by those far more skilled than he, and he was glad to be among so competent a group of defenders.

The day ended with Isk giving Nathalas an appreciative nod after noticing his brand new armor.

Nathalas felt a part of something big. He knew in his heart that the decision to pick up arms, and fight for a cause, was right. He had big dreams, and he meant to achieve them, alongside the many wonderful people, friends and foe alike.
