If the leader of the Atalan is whom I expect it to be, then greetings Asimov old friend. It was good to see some of your people at the tavern the other night. It has been a long time since we fought side by side under Tenebrous' command. Perhaps we could meet and discuss some matters and catch up on old times. Of course this is a request, naut a demand. I am naut foolish enough to demand anything from the Atalan as I have seen what happens to those who do.
Also, I would like to apologize formally for Vitoria Le'Morte's indiscretion of touching one of your people. I assure you this was naut done in an aggressive manner, and I have advised the Blood Queen of the Vampiric Order to never make such a mistake again.
Be well,

The raven bearing the Cappadocians’ message catches the eye of Trillin as it soars over Kaane’s city streets.
Trillin darts into the crowd, attempting to gain ground on the raven now passing him by. He was curious as to where the parchment laden poultry was headed, and Trillin meant to find out.
“In Por Ylem.” Trillin mutters under his breath, sending a flaming arrow in the direction of the raven. It connects, sending the unfortunate bird crashing to the ground nearby. Trillin rushes over, scooping up the parchment and kicking the corpse of the messenger into the ally. A stray cat would take care of that problem.
Trillin begins to smile as his eyes graze over the content of the letter.
“Perhaps I should bring this to the blood root.” He says to himself “I’m sure he could use a laugh.” |

Unrolling the parchment just handed to him, Asimov frowned slightly at the smirk on Trillin's face. Shaking his head with a chuckle, the Bloodroot turned and started walking toward the Shrine while reading the message.
"Well..well. It seems we aren't the only prior inhabitants of Kaane that are still alive."
Stopping a passing scholar, Asimov relieved the man of a scrap of parchment and quill. Placing the paper on the sandstone wall of the shrine, the Atalan general penned a reply:
Greetings old friend,
It has been many moons since we last spoke.. The world we both now call home is changing...and soon will learn what you already know. If you still wish to speak as requested, you may find me briefly at tavern this eve. If not, I would recommend staying clear of Kaane in the coming days. As you know, some of us tend to expand the definition of rage during battles. I would hate for any unnecessary mishaps.
Asimov
Rolling up the note, Asimov called Trillin to him. "Either find a way to return his bird to him with this message...or use a new one. Send it immediately." |
