Korin and Laramie had only been in the pit for half an hour. It was Clear to Korin that even though Laramie was there her heart was not into training. Korin had purposely left himself open for her to counterstrike on several of his attack and she had failed to do so.

A smirk began to grow on Korins face. He was not used to someone not taking training seriously and he was fixing to teach Laramie a lesson for her lackluster attempt at training. Korin faked a strike at her head, then Quickly spun his halberd around and using the handle swiped her legs, knocking her feet out from under her. Laramie landed flat of her back with a loud thud. Korin hesitated just a second the brought the point of his halberd down aimed at her face. Laramie Quickly rolled out of the way and sprang back to her feet. Korin pressed his attack backing her up with swing after swing of his halberd. Korin could see the change in her eyes.

Eyes the color of mud glared with each step, anger etched itself around the edges as the heat within ignited into a torrent. He was taunting her now.

Her voice shook belying the calm she was trying to express. "What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to fight back."

"I am fighting back."

"No dear. You are doing all the steps but you do not feel the music."

Steps. Music.. It took her a split second to grasp the meaning and that was all he needed to bring the halbard down hard, imbedding it in the wall. If he was trying to convince her he meant business he was doing a really good job.

She ducked and dodged, rolling and sliding across the training room floor before rebounding to her feet. Frustration boiled within her and she felt the tears threatening to spill, their uselessness only angering her more at the moment.

"I'm doing what you asked." she choked out.

"No, you're skating by." His tone was calm even though every slice came dangerously close to cutting her in half. "Do you think those would come after you would miss?"

Korin had her now where he wanted her. He could see in her eyes the tears welling in her eyes, she fought to hold them back. Korin knew only a few more little nudges would get her where she needed to be.

Thur gritted teeth Korin spat out "I am going to knock you down." with those words came a blow from his halberd that barely missed Laramies head. Sparks flew off the wall as metal and stone met. Laramie her feet moving light and gracefully danced out of Korins reach.

Korin threw down his halberd and drew his hatchet. He pressed his attack, "Once you are down I am going to have my way with you." His blows were parried by Laramie again and again but yet she still did not strike back.

Korins next words struck a nerve in her. "When I am done with you I am going to make you watch as I cut that pretty little girl upstairs into bits!"

The Rage that flew into Laramie at those words. It was like Korin had released something that had been bottled up for years inside her. She waited on Korin's next attack. Parrying the blow she drove her warfork into his exsposed mid section. As Korin backed up she pressed the attack. Swinging hard and fast she landed three blows before Korin could drop his hatchet and draw his runeblades.

With Korin bleeding from his stomach and both arms the two moved in circles around the pit. Korin now had what he had been working on. She was mad and each time he attacked she countered with her own instead of just defending. Korin waited for the right moment then attacked He forcered Laramie backwards with a fury of blows and he was ready for her next counter attack. Hooking her war fork with his blades he snatched it out of her hand, Useing his body weight he pined her buckler between him and her and forced her up against the wall.

Laramie's chest was heaving up and down and her right hand moved franticly towards her dagger on her side. Korin grasp her wrist and with some effort pinned it to the wall above her head. using his body weight he held her there. Korin Looked deep into those brown eyes he could see the rage building.

"There you go my love, Now you have it." Korin watched her face and eyes as he spoke to her in a calm voice. "Now you need to harness it and not let the anger control you." He leaned in and kissed her briefly before releasing her.
As he backed away quickly "You need to remain in control, do not let anger guide you when you fight but harness its power."

Placing his hand on his side to stop the flow of blood Korin sat back against the wall "I think that is all I can teach you today."

Red, it was all she saw. Her baby girl was off limits, to anyone. She parried and struck, parried and struck. Blinding hatred spoke with every step. So much so that when the war fork met flesh she didn't even notice. All she noticed was that the person who had threatened her flesh and blood was not dead yet.

It wasn't until Korin had her pinned up against the wall that she recognized the person opposite her. Slowly the red haze lifted and the blue of his eyes shifted through. This wasn't an enemy, this was Kestryl's Father and he was bleeding profusely.

Quietly realization dawned on her and she shook away the cobwebs. She watched as he stepped back and slid to the side, his hands covered in deep red.

"I think that is all I can teach you today." He said, his breath ragged.

"Korin, I... I.. d..d..did..didn't mean to." She stuttered out the words, fear sinking in as more of the life's essence trickled out.

He gave a half grin. She knew she was stuttering again, as she always did when she was scared or nervous. "Yes you did, love."

She shook her head no violently. "No, I didn't mean to hurt you."

He interrupted her then. "You meant to hurt the person who was going after our daughter. And you succeeded."

At that the tears that had been threatening to spill from the time training started ran over their willfull barricades and spilled down her cheeks as sobs shook her body. The man she loved had been injured by her hand.

"Laramie, there is no need to cry." Concern etched his voice as well as exasperation. But they fell on deaf ears for Laramie, armour and all was in a hysterical pile on the floor.

Korin was lost. Here he sat bleedings from his stomach and both arms. And Laramie was curled up in a ball on the floor crying hysterically.

Korin was proud of her she had fought well, Maybe a little two well. He looked down as the bright red blood oozed out from between his fingers. Korin spoke the words “Obsu Vulni” His hand glowed with a bright white light and in a few seconds dimmed. Korin looked at his wound and the bleeding had stopped. He was not to concerned with the ones on his arms.

Korin turned his attention to Laramie now. He had to figure out what was going on with her. He crawled over and tried to get her to look at him. She refused. Korin pulled her into his lap and held her close to him and just let her cry herself out.

Korin wiped her tear soaked cheeks with his hand, “Darlin it is my fault, I pushed you.”

Her body shook as the waves subsided, her head buried to his chest tightly. She heard him claim responsibility, saying he pushed. But this wasn't because he pushed. He was hurt because she lost control and didn't care what was in her way.

Reaching to wipe a hand across her nose she sniffled loudly. Dark brown eyes fell on the wounds to his arms and she leaned her head down to examine it more closely. She felt him try to shift his arms away from her and she stopped halfway through the motion.

"I'm fine, love." His voice was calm.

"Y... Y.. you.. don't l.. lo.. look fine."

Korin tightened his grip around her and winced as the wounds in both arms connected solidly with Laramie's shoulders.

"Oh.. I think I can find a way for you to make it up to me."

She pulled back then, wiping her face. A puzzled look she just nodded. She had caused the injury. She would fix it.

"What would you have me do?"

A wicked grin spread on his face a moment before he checked himself and wiped the look off.

"For starters, This will not be the last time we draw blood Love. At least not if you are learning correctly. You cannot fall apart everytime you hurt something."

"I hurt YOU!"

"Well, you cannot fall apart every time you hurt me then."

If she wasn't so horrified she would laugh at that statement. Nudging her up, he helped her to her feet. At least for today, Training and the hysterics it caused were over.
