Long ago, Merci had visited the Blackmarsh Tavern. There a nefarious and unknown character had begun dropping a preaching type book about Impure Bloodlines.

Once the people of Blackmarsh realized this person's goals, they quickly evicted him from their Tavern. However, Merci had quickly snagged one of the books. She had then began studying and reading, with a great deal of curiousity, this rant.

Rantings of a madman most would say?

Perhaps, or perhaps there was more of a growing threat out there then most would admit to. The belief that races should not intermingle, that one race was dominant and better over most others was a belief most deadly. For it was hidden.

Hidden enemies, the ones that did not stand up and say Hey! I am trying to destroy not just you but every one of you! They were the greatest threat.

Merci knew this, she herself had once belonged to a radical, very hidden cult of followers, long before the Realm of Umbra was born. Though surely that groups goals had not been the same as the writer of this book. It was something to note, something that stood out in her mind.

So this book sat, on the Oracle's desk. A constant reminder of what was out there...

Strength in Diversity, Stonegate had always believed, yet it seemed that this was its greatest enemy.
