Pulling the dagger from her pouch she held it out to him. "What about now?"

She hadn't meant it as a challenge but it was none the less. He regarded her with a calm smirk and quirked his finger beckoning her to come closer. She did of course and he promptly led her downstairs into the newly laid sand. Quietly Korin placed her opposite him so that they were facing. His tone was calm and never left the volume of a whisper.

"Where would be your first target if I attacked you?"

Laramie tilted her head and thought about this for a moment. With a smile on her face she answered. "I wouldn't target you because you would never attack me."

He knew she was teasing but the subject was a serious one and it needed a serious answer. Reaching up he barely tapped her cheek with his hand. "There, I have attacked you. What is your first target?"

The tap, although soft made her take a step back and reassess the situation. Extending her wrist she lowered the point of the dagger to meet his groin. Her brown eyes solidly connected to his blue. It was a spot she had connected a well placed knee to with many of the drunks that visited the camp after Korin had left. And each time it had successfully brought them down. It didn't always leave her unscathed for her vengeance but it always got the point across, not that she was going to relay that to Kestryl's Father.

"Good choice. Now where would you go?"

The hesitation in her eyes told him what he needed to know. She wasn't sure where to go from there.

Korin grabbed Laramie's wrist and brought her dagger up to his throat. "This would be your next strike."

Laramie gave a pause and Korin sensed something was troubling her. "What is it my dear?"

Laramie's stutter came back," I... I have never thought of killing a person before."

Korin smiled "You do not think of them as a person." He explained. "You think of them as an enemy who is going to kill you if you do not kill them first."

Korin showed Laramie how far a dagger would reach into a mans head if shoved up under his chin. He hid his smile as he watched her face turn green.

Korin finally decided after sometime trying to show Laramie different things to put it in terms that she would understate.

"Laramie you are not as strong, as a man but you have something that works to your advantage." He told her standing directly in front of her. "You have speed and grace, You must learn to move and strike quickly." After a few failed attempts of attacks and trying to get her to understand what he was talking about.

"Laramie pretend we are dancing." He told her.

Laramie looked at him funny at first but as they started to move and Korin would strike at her she quickly understood. It wasn't too long before the two were moving to an unheard beat. Korin would attack and Laramie would use her buckler to defend then strike. As the two worked in circles in the sand it became more of a game than training.
