The steady rock of the ship as it sailed atop the swells brought a sense of peace to Samara. Not long now, and they'd be back in Magincia.

She strode across the crimson deck of The Pride of Magincia and handed off a map to Dillon.

"See us home through this mess, Dillon, and you'll get a bonus."

The tangled jam of ships surrounding the sea market was getting worse and worse. She hoped the people running the place would do something more to clean it up. If it kept up the way it was, she'd be forced to row every time. She wasn't looking forward to it.

They were perhaps ten minutes from breaking land in Magincia when she heard a noise coming from the cargo hold. She turned about with a hand on her skinning knife and approached the bay, cautious. Throwing back the door, she gazed into its inky depths. As her eyes started to process the outline of several shipping crates, a figure stood up, casually tossing a blanket to the side. The woman proceeded to groom her appearance as if she was supposed to be there, smoothing hair and adjusting her clothes.

Samara straightened. Her first stowaway! She wondered if that was a sign that her ship was impressive. Turning her attention away from the woman, she saw that Dillon was pulling up to the beach. As he weighed anchor, Schmitty hopped aboard, drawn by curiosity. Names and wit were exchanged. Samara was so excited by the possibility of having a new friend with so much in common, she couldn't wait to introduce Meegan to everyone.

Running a hand across her ponytail to smooth it down, Meegan flashed a grin at Samara. In the space of an hour she's learned not only where Samara had come from, but the fact that she was a Princess; that Magincia was their location and that Magnate Isk was her Father. Flipping her light brown hair to her opposite shoulder Meegan flashed a dazzlingly mischievous grin. The Magnate regarded her with a look that was half appraisal, half worry.

If he's worried about my influence on his little girl, she thought, he's right.

She couldn't see anything but his eyes with that mask on. And as the conversation shifted to the fall of Magincia, she saw even less as he walked away. Turning her attention back to Samara the conversation shifted. They were around the same age, they both loved to dance, and thanks to Meegans new fascination with fishing and her constant fascination with men; they both loved boats.

Oh yeah, this was just the beginning.
