Kaylor held Merci's token in the palm of his hand. An ice crystal, small and clear, its delicate intricacies caught the candleglow like a prism, light dancing off its surface in a vibrant celebration of colorful iridescence. The fact that she'd chosen to accept his request for her favor, allowed him to dedicate his joust to her honour, rested certainty upon his soul that more than fate had guided The Black Knight to victory.
