The storm carried us south'ard fer several 'undred leagues and when it finally dropped us we found ourselves in a bad way. Me ship 'ad taken three feet 'o water through 'er seams. The topmast was split in two and the jibboom sprung. Straight away I ordered us ta port, the nearest bein' Buc's, and soon as we was berthed I set me crew 'ard at repairin' the damage done. 'Course I joined 'em in the work 'cuz ain't nuthin' worse than a Cap'n what 'olds 'imself above 'is men. Sets a piss poor 'xample and makes fer ill feelin's all 'round. I was wantin' ta go a'shore bad as me boys, but when me ship is sufferin' so do we all 'till she's set 'aright an' so I list'nd to 'em gripe 'bout the work with a smile an' nod, sweatin' with 'em 'neath the sun's 'arsh rays. Come sunset, though, I called a 'alt and off they dashed ta get the rum and bed the wenches. I joined in that too o'course! All work 'an no play? 'ell no!
