As requested, Sir Kaylor, I have written my thoughts on the virtues to which I am sworn. Please feel free to peruse them at your leisure. I will seek further tasks from you as your time permits. Until that time, be well and may the stars shine on you.

The universe does not separate individuals by race, creed, or belief. We, as beings of independent thought, create that separation ourselves. Compassion is the one virtue which, by its very nature, has the ability to create the bonds that bring the universe together again as a whole, and it is unto this most precious virtue that I am sworn.

A human is but one tiny part of the whole of creation. We each experience time and space in a way that is unique unto ourselves. This creates an illusion which imprisons our minds, limiting our concern to ourselves, our desires, and the lives and desires of those closest to us. Our task in broadening our minds is to escape this prison by widening our scope of compassion to encompass not only individuals outside our circle, but the beauty of nature, and the vastness of creation as a whole. By seeking true compassion in our lives, we create that bond with each person we meet, and begin to change the world, one life at a time.

As the heart is considered the seat of Compassion, it may be contended that Compassion itself is the backbone of Sacrifice. Surely there is no greater Compassion than to give one’s life in place of another. The Virtue of Sacrifice has been described as the courage to give oneself in the name of love. It is, thereby, my conviction and my endeavour that my works, my time, my gold, and my life, be given to those for whom Compassion provides. I sacrifice these things freely, in hopes of creating a world that is better because I left my footprints upon it. And my hope is, when my time here is though, that perhaps those I have touched will remember me with a smile and carry on giving unto others the self-same Compassion which first used my hand to touch them.

Such visions belonged only to dreamers. Life was hardly as idyllic as Eclyse had so eloquently contemplated. Alas, compassion most certainly would use her hand, as would sacrifice, for the attainment of these virtues came only by way of high cost. The payment did not consist of works, time, gold or life, but something far less tangible. To believe otherwise was the only true illusion and an exceedingly dangerous one. As her knight it was his duty to guide her safely through the cracked mirror of that dream.

Seek tasks? Indeed, he grinned. The journey she was about to embark upon with him would leave her little time to seek much else.

Your discourse on Compassion and Sacrifice has been received and reviewed. It was impressive. I was able to glean the insight I required. Being that circumstances prevented our meeting to spar last eve, I would ask that we do so tonight in order that I might avail myself of the opportunity to asses your combat skills as quickly as possible.
