Mrielle awoke the gentle rocking motion of the sea causing a moments confusion. She sat up and rose the motion of the boat giving her a gentle shove out of the bed. Normally she would of awoken with a gentle smile, a soft laugh and found her stumbling from bed somewhat amusing.
Yet not this morning...
The dark haired beauty, Named Mrielle by her mother was graceful, artistic and tanned. Yet her face this morn was surprisingly pale. Her eyes a misty grey, red rimmed, from a night spent crying. She could not find her sister, she could not find her sister's husband.
She was lost adrift at sea in more ways then one.
She left the bed chamber and walked upon the deck of the boat with sadness clinging to her heart, her steps heavier this day. Thinking back to their joyful reunion. She had spent years working and toiling devoting her life to her search for Soren. Now once again her days were spent with that aching sadness, that worry and soft tears...
A rather gentle rain began to fall and her salty tears mixed with it streaming down her face. Now she had more to worry of for her sister was not alone, she carried Mrielle's neice or nephew within her. She remembered her mothers rather arduous labor with Soren and how the doctor had beleived she wouldn't survive. She shuddered remembering those long hours where her father sat by his laboring wife, holding her hand coaxing her firmly.
She had always beleived it was love itself, that had brought her parents thru that arduous and deadly birth. So Soren the youngest child of the Calestras had been love itself to them all. A small beautiful babe that Mrielle had held in her arms and loved at first sight. There had never been jealousy, the sisters were not so close in age and Mrielle had immediately set herself up as protector of her young sister.
Then the conservatory letter had arrived, Mrielle accepted into Britain's Conservatory of music. She had gone away to school and returned.. to nothing.. her family gone.
She gripped the rails of the ship sighing softly, a warm hand snaked around the womans bare mid-drift pulling her close, the soft bells on her skirt gently tinkling as he pulled her into his embrace.
Ye are fer to worrt about yer Soren and her wee fish, Mrielle, ye will see we'el find the lass.
She turned her misty eyes filled with tears and smiled, the one light shining in her darkest hour, clinging to it she clung to him.
Your right, I won't loose her again. Never again.. |
