Arahim,

I hope that this letter finds you well. I was surprised to see you last night, acting as representative for the gypsy clan. The last I knew of you, you were a paladin of Sanctus and very rigid in your beliefs. It only reminds me even more of how much time has passed since we last sat down to speak. This brings me to the point of this letter. I wonder if you would join me for a tea and conversation. I feel that there were some misunderstandings voiced last evening at the meeting, and I hope to clear some of them up. I shall close the letter here, no doubt you have many responsibilities to handle. I will await response.

Joanna

Joanna,

Alot has changed in the years since last we saw one another. Playing paladin just doesn't suit me these days, and I don't get out into the wide world like that anymore.

I haven't changed so much as to not say what I mean, and I still hold onto my beliefs, though they have broadened.

Tea and conversation sound nice, and having said that, I wait upon your convenience. I also leave it to you to suggest a place to sit, and a time.

Until then,
Arahim

Arahim,

I am delighted that you have decided to accept my invitation. By tea I mean dinner, of course. I would be glad to have you over to my home. We have much to catch up on and I look forward to the evening.

Joanna

On the reverse is a time and place to meet

Rolled and attached to the leg of the songbird is an elegantly scripted note on a small sheet of blue translucent paper:

Dearest Lady Joanna,

I must apologize in a most heartfelt manner for my demeanour of two days past. There is much that weighs heavily on my heart, and that eve found no will to give it voice.. In this brief moment of lucidity, I find my way clear to write and thank you for fulfilling the wish I had spoken of in weeks past.

I would like the opportunity to purchase the items that you have gathered, at your leisure. If the notion suits you, please respond with a time and place I may complete the transaction, and I will comply. In the interim, please be well, and may your heart be light.

In Peace,
Cezanne Abella

Joanna held the exquisite blue letter in her hands carefully, as if it were made of glass. The written word had always been one of her passions and she was unwilling to damage such a lovely slip of parchment. There was much you could learn of a person through their handwriting and this letter had been drafted with precision and care. The elegant words flowed smooth as water as she read the letter. Her reply, therefore, was drafted on a rose-tinted leaf of paper and reflected her own decorative penmanship.

Dear Lady Cezanne,

Do not worry yourself any further on my account. It was obvious that something was troubling you and it would be remiss of me to press the matter, not to mention none of my business, at any rate. I hope that you do find a measure of peace for yourself.

In regards to the books you wanted, I would like you to accept them as payment for the poem you have placed to paper for me. You may not consider your work of value presently, but neither did most of the famous artists whose paintings adorn the wall of many Britannian homes. I will not relent in this matter. In fact, I am also of the mind to send you additional payment.

I am available most afternoons and evenings. Simply contact me at your convenience and I will meet with you to deliver the books.

May you find your peace,

Lady Joanna Weaver
