Drayden took the brief yet direct message casually. He set it down on his desk in the dimly lit room. A sigh escaped him as he pondered the situation. Fortunately, after his plans had been set in motion, Drayden had taken it upon himself to begin watching those who had caused his Boss such frustration and anger. This message was not unexpected and he had already considered his reply and wrote:

Dearest Sister,

My utmost apologies for any rudeness from my companions. I was hoping it would not come to this. It is my responsibility to make sure that the Brotherhood stays secure. I did not think it was appropriate for one of the Masked to be dating and making themselves overtly visible. Our Viceroy was reprimanded for her unfettered behavior. Such things cannot be tolerated in this kind of business. This had to be done in order to maintain the security of the Den and our organization. I and assure you that if Olath was not part of our council then I would not be writing this letter. I was in no way singling you out, since Shri'rae was punished as well for similar reasons. We are family yes. But this dear Felyn, this is business.
As for the secret meeting you refer to. I don't recall any secret meetings. There were a few discussions on this that were done in public, as far as our little band goes. This was more than just my doing the Boss was the one who wished to get our gang of drow into at least some kind of order. I'm sorry if this interferes with your relations with men, I am obligated to do what is in the best interests of the Masked. Some things I simply cannot overlook. While yes I still love and trust you, I am the right hand of the Masked One. If I had done nothing then my own life may have been in jeopardy.
Again, my apologies Felyn, this wasn't something I liked to do. I simply had no choice.

The swift response arrived just after the Chancellor had met with his young daughter and her recent fiance. He cocked a brow and frowned as he noted the angry strokes to his sister's writing. With a sigh he shook his head and penned a final reply.
Felyn,
I really could care less about your jealous obsession with Olath. Olath will choose whom he chooses and Shri'rae will choose who she wishes to share her bed. I cannot make that choice for her and neither should you. I'm sure this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Olath is one of many men that you have given your graces to. Last I checked, it was you who married a slave human male. The last time I checked it was you who dug your claws into a male that holds high station in our Brotherhood. I was forced to act because of your lack of self control. If two of our masked wish to bond in such a way, we will not stop them. When one of the masked has an ongoing affair with someone not of the Brotherhood then yes, we have reason for concern.
Shri'rae can choose whatever male she wants. That means that yes, it may be a male that you have bedded. At this point I'm finding to hard to find one that you haven't. She does what she does not for her own selfish aims, not for her own desires or childish needs. She does this for the Brotherhood and the bonding of the Morchiant and Calamyr family. You claim to serve the family, you hold the Calmyr name and tout it yet everything you do is geared towards yourself and fulling your needs and wants. I support her in her decision. You should too. Even though I see now that will be impossible, since you seem to feel that you're entitled to every man yet want to marry just one. Such a horrible double standard my young sister.
Despite your cruel attacks, despite your cruel words and blatant disregard for how I and the family feel, you still feel it's necessary to remind me about my daughter's heritage. Believe me I don't ever forget where she came from, she is my only daughter. She is part of our small bloodline, the bloodline that I am trying to maintain. However, this really is just a thinly veiled attack to attempt and justify the enormous amount of jealousy and contempt you hold towards me and Shri'rae. From here on, you can keep your wiles to yourself and your -husband-. Leave our men alone and don't ever lay a hand on my child.
I don't need your judgement, I don't need your anger and hateful words. I need you to respect that there is a world that does not revolve around you. I need you to accept that your actions have reactions and some aren't always pleasant.
