Moongates were quicker. There was no doubt about it. But there was something about traveling to his hometown with the woman he loved that made him just want to take his time. He hadn't written his sister like he had planned either. He supposed she would find out via messenger from their father or from his own mouth when he and Amdiriel got back.

Am. She had begun riding the horse beside him at the start of the journey. About 10 minutes into it, Aaron had decided he wanted her arms wrapped around him instead. Obliging she had dismounted and joined him astride his own horse. He felt her chin pressed against his back and he wondered what she was thinking beneath her multi-colored streaks of short hair. Was she nervous?

His brother's were going to love her. No doubt about it. She was a knockout. That in itself would endear her to Curtis. If it was breathing, in a skirt and not hideous he was generally all over it. Bastian on the other hand would appreciate the fact that she was intelligent. He never could abide a stupid girl. and Am, would not disappoint him in that area.

The one bone of contention was Jonathon Dell, Patriarch of the Dell Family. The only female he had spoken to kindly in years was Livvie, and even that was laced with a protective ice she had beaten her head senseless against. Am's arms snuggled tighter around his waist and he tilted his head back to get closer contact. If his father could just pick up on even a third of the sincerity in Am's being, all would be well. If not, this was going to be his last trip home.
