We will have a few of our own storytellers, and allow guests to take the floor (or bonfire, as the case may be) and tell stories as well. All are welcome, no matter their walks of life. We will take a handful of 'reserved' slots for storytellers ahead of time, so we don't have a lot of people putting a lot of effort into stories that we may not have time for. Stories can be humourous or meaningful, but please use common sense on the length and content, out of consideration for others who attend, or have prepared stories. Ideally, we'd like to keep the stories original and somewhat brief (7ish minutes) in order to allow others time to tell their tales.
If we should run out of storytellers before we run out of time or interest, we will have a bit of an open mic night, for impromptu storytellers.
We will close a circle before the event, and open it again after the festivities are over. If you wish to be present for this, please be there when the event begins. We'll try to start exactly at 9p.m. Eastern Time.
If you would like to be on the roster, please pm me and we'll add as many as we can to the list to keep the event within reason.
PS - Two words: Gift Bags.
**EDIT**
I obviously need clarification.
This is in reference to the painted parchment post in the Messenger's Log section of the forum. The event will take place at 9 Eastern Time on Thursday, June 17th, at the gypsy camp near the Compassion Shrine in Ilshenar. There will be escorts available at the shrine to deal with the limited spawn between the gate and the camp. |

And keep in mind, this isn't a contest. Its just a way to all get together and allow members of the community to rp out a character trait or history or original piece of writing or share their guild's lore with the rest of us. Feel free to be creative. Poems, song, even just a joke! |

I want to say thank you to the Gypsy's for there great story telling event I had a great time and heard many fine stories and poems. And with the exception of two highly rude children who attended and decided to make rude comments about one story. It was rather good and I look forward to the next one. |

A great evening. I look forward to playing with all of you more. Here's a picture I took of the event. Don't you love UO without "Nightsight."

Children are supposed to act up at grownup events. I loved it!
Thanks everybody for coming and bringing to fruition the concerted efforts of two very fine Wanderers. _________________ An artist is a creature driven by demons ~Faulkner

When I've gone out into the real world (deep breaths, deep breaths), I've often seen children acting up. So let's not instantly assume that these children acted rude in order to be rude OOC, but moreso that the children were, indeed, being children. _________________

Yeah, Sirel is a little kid with no attention span, and Zach thought the romance story was teaching bad morals to her and began whispering to her about not becoming like the woman in the story. Sirel did like Ciara's story though, it had snakes in it! Apparently Sirel really likes snakes! |
