..Amgine sat within his lab the smell of nightshade permeating the air as he worked. Carefully he prepared to combined the mixture he had been working on. The work was slow and refining the nightshade to a one-hundred percent pure form was more difficult the he had thought it would be. But slowly the pure essence of nightshade dripped into the vial. He watched it as he ground the nox crystals into powder for the next part. Why the Drow woman wanted such a lethal potion he wasn’t sure but the money was well worth the effort. He carefully dripped the nightshade essence into the crystal powder the smell singeing his nose. Setting the new mix aside to ferment he read the notes of his ancient journal. Its pages darkened with age, it was one of the oldest in his grandfathers bequeathed collection. Though faded the notes in the book were of great help in his work with this poison.

“..I want a poison so lethal the air itself will kill all those within a given area…”

Her words echoed in his mind as he read. He had dealt with her before and knew better then to ask questions of what she had intended. But it was her posture that caught his attention most she seemed worried almost frightened this was something he had never seen in this woman.

“..Ferment for 3 days in a dark dry place. Let no light touch it or it will weaken the mix...”
The notes were clear but it was the next ingredient that he was worried about “Pure Volcanic Ash…” Flipping through the pages of his books he knew he had read about the regent but had never handled it himself nor was he even sure where to find a pure sample.

Closing the last of the old journals in a huff he leaned back in his char thinking. Who could he speak to that might know something anything about this volcanic ash. Walking out of the lab his servant gave him a glass of tea. Slowly he walked toward the study going over the names of all those his parents knew but if it wasn’t in his books he doubted any of them would know. As if being hit by an energy bolt a thought came to him. The woman he met at the tavern the eve before! She had mentioned she and her family were alchemist, perhaps she might know something of this. He sat in his study and penned a quick letter then called for his servant, the young girl appearing moments later.

“Take this letter to Luna, a shop just to the north and deliver it to Lady Kaedence. Make sure it goes to her and no-one else.” *Holding out the letter he notices her fingertips.* “Looks like someone has been in the cookie jar again.” *Smiling at her*. Clean up then go and you had better not let cook see you taking those you know how he gets.
