In all seriousness, the stuff stolen from me was all untagged/unmarked arties/gear so as to not have them be identifiable. There are quite a few people I have trusted with my account info over the years. Those who I have given it to are all respected members of this community whom I trusted completely. As my virus scan is clean and all my pages are protected by various blockers, it is looking more and more like an inside job. I have a list of names of people who had my info. If one of you did this to me, now is the time to come clean about it.

I have given so much away for free to people in this community over the years, to have something like this done to me is like a total WTF move. I don't give my information away to just anyone. I wouldn't have even thought it possible that people I no longer speak to would have done something like this to me. Those who really know me know that I give freely of myself if they ask for something, and most of the time I give it away without them even asking.

Please, if you had my info and think someone could have accessed it from your pc somehow, tell me. If you have any information about this, tell me.

Your offer is appreciated and very generous, but it is mostly the sentimental attachment that griefs me. Half of what my chars had on was given by old friends that don't play any more.

Thank you, though, it means a lot to have so many offering to help. Thank EA for imbuing, half my gear was arties that could be replaced with better if it came down to it.

It has been suggested to me to list what I have lost. Logging to each and checking out each char at a glance, here is what I have noticed to be missing, so far:

Hat of the magi (dyed pitch black)
2 ornaments of the magician - 1 the normal blue the other dyed either brown or green

1 shadow dyed sorceror suit with female chest piece and male legs- the hat is dyed pitch black
a few pendants of the magi in random colors

Shield of Invulnerability dyed shadow
2 mace and shield reading glasses dyed black
several totems of the void in various colors
2 primer of arms removal, 1 dyed black, 1 dyed invul blue
1 crown of tal'keesh dyed green
2 stitcher's mittens
1 inquisitor's resolution dyed shadow
2 rune beetle carapace dyed shadow
A few tomes of lost knowledge in various shades
lady of the snow costume
wisp costume
1 wizard crystal reading glasses
1 human fey legs dyed shadow
1 armor of fortune dyed shadow

1 ring of the vile
1 leggings of bane dyed shadow

That's all at a glance right off my characters. Cein's bank was emptied of a couple million gold. In light of what was taken, that seems a petty amount. I hope whoever did this gets cancer.

Also, I don't list this hoping or wanting people to replace any of it. I don't want it replaced. I want it returned. I also want you to keep your eyes open in case people magically start wearing or selling any of my crap.

I'd also like to point out again that whoever did this went out of the way to avoid being identified, so they are likely within this community. They left blessed clothing and items on me that had makers marks.

I don't even know how to respond to this. It's just so awful.

Though it has not happened to me with UO, I have had accounts hacked and know the sick feeling it leaves you with. Many times I've wondered what would be worse, if it were a stranger who snagged your info or by someone who you know and trusted (at first I thought it was somebody I knew, but then came to realize it likely was not).

I would like to point out that in our household we recently had a series of security issues that were ultimately virus related but NOT detected by top of the line and constantly updated anti-virus. Given I recently had a problem with a UO-related site trying to install a trojan on my own computer (a keylogger no less) I would also need to wonder if you have been to any number of sites? Some of the attacks are designed to hit something like every five or six seconds, and seem to rely on your anti-virus and/or computer bogging down and letting it in. My point is, I guess, that if you picked up one of these stealthy keyloggers on a UO-related site it may just be someone with an agenda.

Also, I wonder if EA would hear your situation. Possibly they can confirm from what IP someone logged in? Not to say they'd replace things, but possibly take action? Your log-in records would be all static, given that you use a desktop and I know addy's via Comcast stay the same--if they keep a record of such things it might at least get the guilty party shut down.

So try to think back. Have you gotten any official looking Windows protection alerts? Anything that would stand out as strange? That's what happened with us--we got very official looking Windows pop-ups with lists of things we were supposedly affected with. One of the options was to shut down and restart so it could fix the problem. But what it really was was fake, convincing, and if you opted to shut down it made dramatic changes in your settings--including the ability to run your anti-virus. So far we've been lucky; after Billy got hit with it and had to replace his OS and lose a lot of his (traitor) game stuff and settings--but it could've been so much worse and we were prepared for future attacks.

This is crappy. I am sorry it happened to you. Giving your account info away is a big deal and anyone who betrays that trust is a douche. I've only trusted, I think, two people, including you, with mine.

Since..they only seemed to take items that are extremely.. not.. rare.. its going to be difficult to look at the community and think we are all the criminals behind it. Edda alone wears at least three of the objects you listed in the colors you listed. So I may agree they were trying to be discreet and wanna hang around in front of you still.

Have you talked to everyone you know had your info? Maybe they got hacked. Or went insane.

Most of the things you listed I've never heard of Cein. Yeah, I'm dumb that way.

But I did find a regular colored Rune Beetle thingie in Kris's stuff when he left the game.
Also, I think I have several Sheild of Invul, also regular color but easily enough dyed.
Demetria has one of those cincture things given to her in her time in Umbra--glad to give it back. Pretty sure you or Morio laid it on her.
Likewise a stormgrip Sylvan has. They're dark colored but not sure if they are dyed? Syl's are the only ones I've ever seen.
Somewhere I have shadowdancer leggings given to Merri when she went stealther, I think by Zeth.

From your list that's all I come close to being able to offer but gold--but I realize gold isn't really the point here.

It kills me that people stoop to this level over a damn game. I'm sorry to hear that someone did this too you. That was really crappy and totally uncalled for. I can't imagine going through it, I don't want to. But I will gladly help with gold or any way I can.

On the flip side and I mean this nicely, don't ever get your info out again. This just proves how truly cruddy people can be.
