As the corpse lay in the basement of the newly risen tower the men of Ice began to look around at the damages of the island. They came to a complete halt when they saw the newly risen tower, dark and ominous with blood running down its' sides. The door to the tower had a skull in the center and at the top of the tower stood four gargoyle statues. The statues which were centered on the four edges of towers' peak faced in the directions of north, south, east, and west. To the men who had arrived at the steps of the tower they felt a cold chill fall over their bodies as they looked up at the gargoyle. One of the men, a younger man, shrugged at the rest of the group before walking up to the towers door and checking to see if it was locked. He quickly found that it was not and walked on into the tower. Just after passing over the thresshold of the door he was knocked into the wall to his right. The door slamed shut and the gargoyles, who were once lifeless began to cackle. The man managing to get back to his feet looked around the tower. The few things that he noticed the most were a hole in the floor where it appeared something big had fallen through, several bookshelves full of black and blood red tomes, and a armory full of blood covered blades. As he walked over to check on the bookshelf he felt as though he were walking on hallow ground and coming to a complete stop he heard the sound of splintering just before he fell through the floor. He landed on a bale of hay and noticing that he was not injured he began to peer around. The first thing to catch his eye was a man lying on the ground motionless. Fearing that this was one of the villiagers of Ice he ran over to check on the motionless figure. What the man did not notice was the dagger in the figures hand. Just as the man bent over to check on the figure he felt a blade go through his chest and watched as his blood began to pour over the motionless figure. Just as the first drop landed on the figure his eyes shot open and he rose to a sitting position. |
