Dear Hephastien,

I wanted to ask your help in a small task. It seems we have a mutual friend in Kaylor. After meeting with him, the King and I, we learned he wished to undergo a sort of treatment. This treatment involves the loss of his memory which he agreed to. So I ask that when you see him you do not tell him of his past but help him relearn his friends and home. So that he may pursue his new life. I have great hopes for his progress and I think that he shall find what he is looking for in his new path among us.

I appreciate your help I care greatly that he is safely and happily settled.

After reading Merci's letter Hephaistion counsels with Alexander and decides to send word of this news to Kaylor's step-brother, Ancyous.

A young messenger boy delivers Hephaistion's reply to Stonegate . . . . .
