|
Greetings winged and wingless ones alike,
The Ter Mur Royal Library is now open and its first theme of books on display. Also be sure to visit the book store on the 2nd floor to purchase books for your own private library!
On the first floor you will find:
The first theme for the Library, which is History with a focus on the Battle of Trinsic which took place 10 years ago across all shards. There is a large archive of official lore and news, as well as a number of tomes detailing eye-witness accounts by people who took part in the pitched battles. There is an extensive supplimental information section with biographies of the key figures of the conflict, as well as background information on certain locations and artifacts. The final section regarding Trinsic containes multiple tomes dedicated to intriguing lore surrounding a key artifact possessed by Juo'nar, Malabelle, and even Minax herself. Part of the Trinsic Battles display is a Runebook with a few runes to various areas which have become landmarks, immortalizing the Battle of Trinsic.
In addition to all of the tomes about Trinsic, there are a number of general History tomes as well. Numerous volumes ranging from detailing epic battles to history of the Gem of Immortality can be found in these sections. Some biographical information can be found here, along with some historic tales salvaged from the old Yew University. The final section is filled with political documents and proclamations, showing alliances and wars of old which have led to the current state of some parts of the community.
You will also find the Great Houses collection of books - 9 volumes given to the leaders of the Great Houses long, long ago by Dayle Stormcrow. These have been painstakingly recovered and refurbished. You can purchase this collection from the book store on the second floor.
The winning entries of the Ter Mur Royal Library writing contest are located by the front entrance.
Also on the ground level you will find a runebook with other libraries, if you wish to visit them, and a guest book to sign. Wislem the Guardian, on the front steps, will be more than happy to provide you with a return rune to the Royal Library.
On the second floor, you will find:
The book store; currently there are two vendors here. One sells individual books which I have written (and soon there will be more, written by others). These books are new and can not be found anywhere else. The other vendor sells collections of books which have been painstakingly recovered from their originals which unfortunately were never red-leafed and have suffered much damage. Other collections will be assembled and be purchasable in the future.
These books will not be found in other libraries and will make great additions to personal or public libraries, and they make for great reads! Currently, both collections are on display in the Royal Library so that you can see them before purchasing.
Also on the second floor are numerous books. The old-style NPC books as well as the Ter Mur books are on display here, along with the Khaldun journals. A section of miscellaneous books focuses on quests, advice, and other forms of topical help. There is a 'snap shot' section which is made up of multiple tomes showing "snap shots" of people's lives. The last section is a comprehensive collection of poems by Canto Canzione, a very talented poet from long ago. This collection is also on sale at the book store.
Coming soon: Royal Library Gift Shop, Vendors, Contests, new Themes and books to be put on display, and more! With approaching 2,000 books, there will be a rotation periodically of all books, so check back often!
If you would be interested in a vending spot, free of charge, contact me and let me know and we can work out the details.
Many hours have been invested, so I hope you all enjoy!
For those who are unfamiliar with the location: The Ter Mur Royal Library is located south-east (straight down) about a screen from the Ter Mur moongate by the Royal City. It can't be missed!
Thank you all,
