I saw this at the first Jethro Tull show I went to in Atlanta a few years ago. Hands down the best cover of Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) I've ever heard....

I am a great lover of '60's music. I was raised on it.

I also love it when new bands reimagine new takes on classics. So here are three of my favorites.

Elenor Rigby - The Beatles, as redone by Godhead

Can't Find My Way Home - Blind Faith, as redone by the supergroup Electronic (Bernard Sumner of Joy Division/New Order, Neil Tenant of The Pet Shop Boys) Chris Lowe of The Pet Shop Boys, Karl Bartos of Kraftwerk and Johnny Marr of The Smiths.)

The last one isn't a 60's tune, but both the original and the remakes are all time faves for me.

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush, as redone by Placebo

Not sure that any video exists of it, or at least anything available to the public domain, but...*bows head* One year at the Halloween Type O Negative show, they opened with their rendition of Pink Floyd's 'The Thin Ice'. Never did hear that song quite the same again. Rest in Peace, Peter.

There are quite a few cover songs out there that bear mentioning. I was going to only put two here, but they kept coming up, so I include four. Listener discretion is advised.

First being a cover of R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" by Graveworm.

And the second being a cover of Nick Cave's "Loverman" by Metallica.

Third being a cover of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl" by Type O Negative.

Fourth being a cover of Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name" by Machine Head.

Type O's Cinnamon Girl is actually the only version of that song I like. Never was a Young fan.

"Ring of Fire" by Social Distortion. The stuff of shivers.

Liked Marilyn Manson's remake of sweet dreams, and Johny Cash's remake Rusty Cage

Complete album of Iron Maiden cover songs. I put asterisks next to ones I felt were done better than the originals.

Kerrang! Presents: Maiden Heaven

1. Prowler [Black Tide]
2. Remember Tomorrow [Metallica]
3. Flash of the Blade [Avenged Sevenfold]
4. Two Minutes to Midnight [Glamour of the Kill]
5. The Trooper [Coheed and Cambria]
6. Wasted Years [Devildriver]
7. Run to the Hills [Sign]
8. To Tame a Land [Dream Theatre]
9. Caught Somewhere in Time [Madina Lake] *
10. Wrathchild [Gallows]
11. Fear of the Dark [Fightstar] *
12. Hallowed Be Thy Name [Machine fracking Head] *
13. Iron Maiden [Trivium]
14. Running Free [Year Long Disaster]
15. Brave New World [Ghostlines] *

Also, Iron Maiden is touring the U.S. Got my ticket already. I advise you to get them asap. They're selling fast.

Not sure what actual album, if any, this particular cover of 'Space Oddity' was on; I discovered it when I purchased a compilation set called Gotherotica (or maybe it was Gothic Erotica..something like that).

Artist named Brix Smith--she's got an awesome voice and is a talented guitarist. And, being a rabid and lifelong Bowie fan I was reluctant to even play it the first time.

She did the song serious justice. Worth looking into, even if you are fearful of Bowie covers as I am!

can't believe you thought someone did a song better than Maiden...no way...

They have the weakest tour schedule...I tried during the Somewhere Back in Time and the latest and they are coming NOWHERE near where I live...

Another one that came to mind is Metro, covered by System of a Down. Original is done by Berlin.

Something more recent is Everlast's cover of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues"
