Shri'hrae had been up for hours. This was not the abyss, this was not Gorhun's house and this was not her Father's either. This was a place called The Scholomance. Izrem, the master of the Scholomance had treated her, Uncle Olath, Her Father and Solanceae well. And for that she was grateful. Last night in the lair of the Lich Lord, it seemed it very well could have gone the other way. Walking between bookshelves she grabbed a title called Teachings of Oblivion.

Reaching her hand out for the book her head began to swim. It felt the same as when she had eaten too much of one of Aunt Felyn's sweets, she so often gave to Shri'hrae in the abyss. Memories flooded to and from as if someone were trying to yank them like puppet strings. My Mother, My Father, Solanceae, the abyss...

Round and round the images circled. For a moment it seemed as if she had forgotten who are Mother was altogether. With all she had learned in her 100 years, Shri'hrae dug deep within herself. Magical resist basics were muscle memory now. With her thoughts and her feelings she reached out to the one attempting to pull the strings. Realization hit. "So this is why you were not there to greet me." The words were calm even though her insides felt as if they were on fire.

Finally the pit of pain within her slowed and she rose up from where she had crumpled to her knees on the floor. "I am who I am. And you had a hand in that. You may not want me. But you are my Mother. And I, however, will always remember what you are, what you were, and what you chose to discard. History does not erase because of a whim." Turning round she unclenched her fist and returned to her reading. There was a life to live.
