Ryloth shook violently against the ground. His eyes pressed tightly closed, their lids shifted while his eyes rolled back and forth beneath them. His hands pressed firmly to the sides of his head. Every so often, he would let go of his temples and scratch violently at the scars that ran diagonally along his cheeks.

"I control myself. I control myself. I control myself." Ryloth repeated, moaning loudly and stifling a scream.

Ryloth was a member of the Nazduin family. While all of the Nazduin elves had been tainted by the corrupt forest during their attempts to cleanse it, Ryloth was among those who were tainted the worst. Gorgorath'Quessir they were called. They were tainted to no believable extent, savage, uncontrollable, blood thirsty, malicious beasts. Even the Nazduin family themselves feared the brothers and sisters of the Gorgorath'Quessir. They were muzzled and bound, only to be freed when the utmost danger threatened the family.

The Nazduin elf dedicated years of his life, after the near extinction of the family, striving to grip any part of his sanity. Even though the sanity seems intact at times, it takes less than a mild flicker to send him into an uncontrollable savage state.

The violent shaking hindered slowly. Ryloth regained control of his mind and body. Removing his hands from his head, he pressed against the ground and stood up. The master, D’thal Morlith, requested the gathering of all his Thralls. They would be sent on a mission this eve. Ryloth hurried off towards Charnel Hill to gather with the others.

As Ryloth approached, he noticed a number of Ebon Skull members already gathered. He looked to the line of Thralls and knew full well, he was the last to come. Doing his best to remain quiet, Ryloth hurried through the midst of them, and joined the line. To his relief, he wasn’t punished.

D’thal gave his instructions to the Thralls and to Zalar, a Legendary Death Knight who recently returned to Charnel Hill. They were to scout as far as the caves, but not to press into Sanctus territory. If any Sanctans were seen, they were to be approached before being killed.

Five of them ran along the road, East of Umbra. Each of them sat comfortably atop of a magical steed. Together they reached the caves and entered them with caution. They crossed one bridge, then crossed another. Ryloth knew from his past scouting experiences, that they were now pressing into Sanctus land.

“Milord...” Ryloth began addressing Zalar, “I think we’ve gone farther than the Master commanded.”

“Mind your words when you’re speaking to those higher than you.” Kurt spat in Ryloths direction.

The elf merely shrugged. Just a head of them, five Sanctans approached, arms already at the ready, an opposite scouting party of equal size. Ryloth rested his hand against his bow; he took a deep breath to calm himself.

“What business do you have here?” The first Sanctan asked. He gripped a spell book and a blackened kasa covered his eyes.

Zalar snarled and screeched in reply. A dark ominous tone left his skeletal skull. “We’re scouting.”

“Welp, nothing to see here. As for trespassing on Sanctus soil, we request sixty gold pieces from you.”The first Sanctan replied again.

Zalar screeched and cackled in reply.

“Cmon, what use do undead have for gold?”

“I’m not undead, you fool.” Ryloth loudly stated.

“If you don’t pay with gold, you’ll pay with your lives.”The Sanctan shouted.

The fight broke out instantly. Sanctus had only one upper hand on the Ebon Skull soldiers, magery. The first Sanctan, the only one to speak, was the first to fall. The Ebon Skull soldiers tore through four of the Sanctus soldiers in the blink of an eye. Only one survived. He reacted with cunning ability and skill that Ryloth had rarely seen.

Sun Wu Kung was the first to fall. The Sanctus warrior cut through him with brilliant ease. Next was Zalar. The Sanctus warrior spun his kryss and stabbed wildly with precision. Driving to the core of the Death Knight and besting him.

The Sanctus soldier spun on his swamp dragon and sped off towards their castle. Ryloth and his brother, Kolith Nazduin, took chase. The Sanctus soldier was a brilliant fighter and headed into the heart of the pixie forest. Both Nazduins were ambushed, immediately having to fall back. They baited him out to fight them in front of the Hanse Hostel.

He came at them, darting back and forth. The soldier ran circles and flat out straight lines, such of a coward. Both Nazduins chased him violently. With the blink of an eye the Sanctus soldier spun around and thrashed wildly at Kolith. Before he could react, Ryloth watched Kolith hit the ground with a solid thud.

With several quick flicks of his bow, the arrows soared toward the Sanctus soldier. He took run again, continuing to be a coward, a clever coward. Kurt then joined Ryloth in front of Hanse Hostel. The Nazduin was still bitter about Kurts earlier snide comment. Ryloth was speaking against their troop leader, only to insure that the Masters instructions were followed. Never the less, at that moment, any bitterness was forgotten.

“Ready?” Ryloth asked, taking a glance at Kurt.

Kurt began to nod in agreement but was suddenly attacked by the reappearing Sanctus soldier. Kurt took run towards the caves’; the soldier took chase, Ryloth followed in both of their wakes. His arrow’s violently smashing into the soldiers’ armour. Some of them merely reflected off, others cut across his flesh, drawing blood. Ryloth caught up to the two. He quickly pulled a strip of clothe from his pouch tied to his waste. He reached for Kurt on the run with an attempt to heal his wounds. Before he could reach him, Kurt had fallen.

Ryloth let go of his conscious mind. He savagely attacked the Sanctus soldier. The soldier tore off towards the castle in response. Arrows viciously drove after him with fierce precision; the Nazduin gripped his warfork and swung it violently at his foe. Blood spilled in every direction; several times the soldier dropped his weapon. The soldier took chances at leaping off his swamp dragon and began swinging a bola ball high above his head. Each time Ryloth replied to this action with a short retreat then an immediate attack.

Finally the Nazduin elf made his way to the cave. The Sanctus soldier kept mildly attacking him; like a vampire bat nipping at its prey. Ryloth merely shrugged him off. Too smart to be knocked off his mount, to quick and direct to be out struck, and far better at surviving. The Sanctus soldier was a joke of an attacker.

“He continues to retreat to their castle. Let us take our leave before others join them.” Ryloth stated. The Ebon Skull soldiers had risen and licked their wounds to the best of their abilities.

The group took leave to meet with their master. They would report the incident; none would admit that one man had best the majority of them. But Ryloth worried not. For this was just another piece of meat to feed the soldiers of Umbra. They would take this and learn from it. They would adapt and grow stronger together. They would strive to defeat Sanctus.
