Cam paced back and forth in her bedroom, the baby chicken lizard sat on the floor, nipping at the hem of her skirt each time it passed. She threw it a couple handfuls of grain and sat on her bed, in a huff. After a long sigh, she just sat legs crossed, chin in hand, foot tapping, watching the baby peck at its food. She hated feeling this way. She didn't even know WHY she felt this way. He brought her on his little trip, that was weird enough, but to finish it the way he did just messed with her mind. She started wondering if all this time that was the only reason he was ordering milk. Then she wondered where all the milk was. She had probably been right, he probably didn't drink it.
Suddenly, there was a big thud outside, and she popped up and walked to the little balcony. The baby chicken lizard quickly ate that last few grains and ran to follow her. It was just Jareth, swinging at a tree outside her house. Making stacks of logs in little piles, ready to work on his bow-making. She gave him a small wave and went back in.
Kneeling down, she let the baby chicken lizard climb up onto her back and she headed downstairs. She plopped the creature on a pillow near the fireplace and walked across the room. Opening the little wicker basket by the bar, she peeked in at Yuna's large collection of runes. Pushing all the useless ones out of the way, digging around, she finally came to one labeled 'Umbra'. She held it in her hand for a while, wondering if she should. He hadn't come here in days. Though, it felt more like weeks. She finally stopped kidding herself, and admitted over and over in her mind how much she definitely wanted to see him again.
She chucked the rune as hard as she could across the room, making the baby chicken lizard jump and look at her. She was pissed at herself for letting some weird guy affect her like this. She had been on edge with her friends and the cows teats had never been redder. She got up and walked to the door, kicked it open, and stormed outside, the baby chicken lizard scurrying to keep up with her. _________________ Butter
