i sat staring at the fire , i find myself doing that alot lately. the various scents of my mixtures filled the dark secluded room which was my lab. i picked some fresh roots the night prior in hopes that i would finally be succesful in my project. i carefully poured a mirky black liquid into a pot of boiling transparent substance. steam began to fill the room, i just smiled as the liquid began to solidify almost into a batter type consistancy. i let it set for a few hours as i turned my attention the book i had been reading. it was educational book i had bought off of a traveling merchant, it was a self help book that i found to be funny and serious at the same time it was called "Living with the Pyro: a pyro's survival guide"...

i must of spent hours reading when suddenly i was staring at the book with the flames dancing around it, it was a good read i suppose but it was far more entertaining watching it burn. i looked back towards my lab and decided it was time to get back to work. the mixture i made earlier was cool to the touch now so i pulled it out and began forming it into small round ball like shapes. there was so much i did not think i would ever be done. the smell filled the room i was amazed at how much they really smelled like chocolates. when i was all done i placed them aside and began the delicate task of injecting each one with just the right amount of potion, it took the better part of the following morning to finish.

this is the best idea ever i thought to myself, now i just gotta think of a way to get people to try them her first thought was camilla, maybe i can get her to try my umm choclate, i picked one up and carefully engraved a small saying onto the small piece of chocolate before wrapping it up into some wax paper. without thinking i reached over and grabbed a piece of my special candy and popped it into my mouth. it tasted just like normal chocolate at first then i relized what i did. it was too late the potion was already starting to take effect my mouth became numb i reached for a glass of water and began to gulp down the water inside it. it was too late i was feeling the affects of the potion. i told myself i cant leave my house until it wore off, all i know is this love potion wasnt intended for me .

Tonight I overheard Selena speaking of a new potions experiment in the Blackmarsh Tavern. She seemed excited about it... almost giddy. I wonder what power this new potion holds? I suppose I could just ask her...

I settle into the hot bath and ponder writing a letter...

Selena slipped me the secret chocolate before we left Blackmarsh for the Moonglow Tavern. Cam, Selena, and I were nothing but giggles as we made our way out into the night. I managed a seat at the bar next to Gerard. He's the protector of Cove... everything a War Lord should be... and handsome on top of that.

I began with some some small talk and then offered him a chocolate. He seemed to be puzzled and examined it for a short while. Finally, he ate it...

It took quite some time for the effects to kick in. It didn't go over so easily with him as it had with some of Selena's test subjects. At first he just said he felt strange and then stumbled around. Then... out of nowhere... he called out my name: "KALI! MORE DRINKS!"

From then on we sat close at the bar... exchanging touches and whispering naughty secrets. Then something happened... His pupils once dilated returned to normal. He no longer felt euphoric. My heart dropped... I was prepared for this once the effects wore off.

But then something wonderful happened... "I don't suppose we could go back to your place... could we?" I asked.

"I don't see why not." he replied.

Gerard offered me his hand and we left the tavern together.

Later... as he slept... I wrote him a short note and laid it on the make shift pillow... there in the bedroom of his new house.

As I stealthed away into the night... I smiled to myself and thought... "Chocolates? Who needs chocolates?"
