Thoryne walked into the crime scene clutching an implement for writing and a scroll in her tiny hands.
It was a mess, white fluff had oozed everywhere. She looked upon it as blood. She gave an exulted sigh as if she was on the job to long and had seen to much of this violence. She walked across the room taking in every detail of the Crime Scene. She turned to her father who was knelt over the body (but was not really there) and said in her most grown up voice.
Alright Inspector Reaucher what have we got here..
She imagined her father turning and looking at her and giving a slight smile. Dead I estimate sometime last night, bodys stiff not fresh but not badly decomposed.
Cause of death? her small voice echoed in her tiny empty bedroom.
Unknown, Thoryne M'lass. Thats your job.
She gave a small giggle and then schooled her features she was after all a big tall adult of say oh 20 years, she was an exulted, no the very best ever at what she did. She was The Impaler..that was her *nick name* she decided right there on the spot. Impalers didnt giggle.
Then your done here? Her imaginary dad nodded and she let out a yell not like that of a five year old but that of a grown woman.
Alright bag this stiff up, and move it to my office, lets see what story his guts tell!
**************************************************************************************************
It was a dark and stormy night,
around midnight... (at least she was pretending it was so.)
Lightning flashed in the sky illuminating her lab.
Thoryne sat now in white robe, smears of blood, (probably chocolate) all over the front.
You could hear the scratching of her plume as she wrote in childlike handwriting:
Time of death:
23:01
Status of corpse:
Dismembered, killing blow unknown. There are so many. I shall indebor thru the use of an exhuming technique and my vast scientifilogical equipment find the rute cauze of one, Mr. Jelly Bear's demise. It almost seems to me the cause is being hidden on porpoise.
She took a stake and hammer and pinned each limb of the bear to the *autopsy table which resembled her desk*. So he wouldnt roll away. She grabbed a pair of scissors and began to cut thru his *flesh* ( soft stuffed animal like exterior).
She poked around a bit and then at last started pulling *organs-more white fluff* and putting them in a pan. She pretended to weigh each one.
After much deductive and logical reasoning *The Impaler* felt she had identifed the cause of death.
She added to her notes:
Case Closed report to be submitted to Lord Reaucher. aka dad.
Cause of Death: Poisoning. Kidney weight unusual, inabilities to filter, in an attempt to clean poison from the blood steam they blue up.
Suspect: Grandma-rare Nightshade poison known only to well.. her.
Book her Papa!
*****************************************************************************************************
She ran from the room bits of white fluff everywhere.. she shouldnt of used the glue as an exhumant or whatever that meant and it was sticking to everything she touched. Like the notebook she left upon her fathers desk....
He would want to know the cause of Mr. Jelly bears death... On to the funeral.. |

A chuckle washed over his face as he read through the "report." Impetuousness and imagination were the wonders of childhood and all of his children were gifted with far too much of both. Yet it was Thoryne whom regularly surprised him the most. The only thing that remained constant in the little girl seemed to be the unwavering fact that she would surprise him.
"Mister Jelly Bear... you have been on quite a ride, eh?" He mused quietly to himself as he set the report covered in plush animal fur and cotton on his desk.
A smile never faulted on his face, a smile he needed all too much at that, as he set down to write:
A Collegiate Exaltation in Recognition and Appreciation for the Dedication of one Miss Thoryne Reaucher
He smirked knowing too well his daughter would be scampering through a dictionary at that.
For her achievement in the field of forensic evaluation regarding the case of one 'Mr. Jelly Bear', the College of Anatomical Postmortem Investigation wishes to bestow upon Miss Thoryne Reaucher the highest honor in her field. Given her diligence, dedication, and unwavering integrity, Miss Thoryne Reaucher is from henceforth entitled to abdication of -one- bedtime per month of her choosing.
We thank you for your skill and presence in this field.

He sealed the note with the wax seal bearing the insignia of the City of Britain and set off to her room. Quietly and carefully he crept in and left the note on her nightstand. Kissing her forehead, he pulled her covers up to her chin and set off.
I am sure she will be thrilled. A characteristic smirk crossed his lips as he made his way back to his room and climbed into bed next to Willow.
"Our daughter is a loon, m'dear."
Willow smirked. "Mmm, she takes right after her father, no doubt." With a wink she slung her arm over him before they drifted off to sleep. |

Their were no words for little Thorynes blooming and steadfast love for her father...The dictionary slipped from her hand and she began to dance.. in a circle holding the piece of paper tight against her chest. I shall be recognisized and congradulated by my peers! All thanks to you Mister Jelly Bear!
The bears head, poorly re-attached fell to the floor and rolled under the bed... |
