Dearest Family,

You will excuse my awkward way of writing in this Britannia tongue, but I must have practice and regard my writing as much as possible in preparation for the journey and it's completion. Your weekly letters from Umbra and Britannia and well received in Kos Heb and eagerly awaited by our women and younger household. I was quite pleased to hear Darrien Church had opted to assist these Minoc Gypsies you wrote of, having gotten to know Darrien, while he resided here with us, in my youth I am not shocked. He seemed to be quite at amicable relations with the Vistani of Kos Heb under our roof.

I will of course come without hesitation to Umbra and may even arrive before the receiving of this letter. I will do what I am able to assist in what is no doubt proving to be a difficult situation to facilitate. I presume, because Darrien Church rules, there is enough order in the city itself that there exists no need for my bringing of excessive body-guard but on the other hand we no doubt have many new enemies.

My father would be very pleased with the state of things I am sure of this.

The Umbran Climate concerns of me, having never been much away from our homeland. But, the lack of sunlight should avoid too hot of a climate itself and I will pack lighter garb with limited fur and lining. I have some being made in haste especially for use in my immediate arrival. Once I reach the mainland I will use a simple recall-spell with the rune you have forwarded. I do not carry much luggage aside from personal effects and some clothing so no caravan of long manual journey is required. A recall spell from the mainland will do.

We shall speak more when I do in fact finally arrive in Umbra and Charnel Hill.

My most beloved Nephew,

We look forward to seeing you in Umbra. It is better we speak in person rather than by letter. The zhmúrik have several problems we will need to straighten out for them. They have good intentions, but lack the Ne'Sveti will to resolve. Retinue is not needed, if you are truly your father's son. A sharp blade, and stout armor will serve you well enough.

Once we have a respectable Demenze, we shall summon the rest of the family. I do terribly miss Baba Cerenje's cooking.

The weather here is a touch warm for my liking. Your preparations seem quite full of forethought. You have been graced with your mother's wisdom.
