"Savhanna, Savhanna, Savhanna..."

He shakes his head while pacing around his room early in the morning. Ditto lay spralled out in bed still sleeping contently after last night's events.

Thoughts rushing on that which he has begun...in this great game of chess he plays.

"My side of the board looks more promising every day...my pieces are layed out strategically already and still moving. With but a few piece's in the way at the moment..."

He walks over to the large table in his room and out of a chest next to it, pulls out some maps. Laying the maps out on the table and putting some paperweights so as for them to stay in place, he then walks over and picks up a chessboard and it's pieces. Walking back over to the table he slides the pieces off the board onto the table. Slowly one by one he pick's up a chesspiece and places it on the maps in certain locations.

"Everyone's pieces are laid out...Now...Savhanna..." Looks over to the pawn piece that is over Spiritwood. "Interesting what things and moves are played out."

"What trouble have we possibly got yourself into?" He then looks over to Trinsic...then to Serpents Hold.

"Friends to both parties? Seemingly adamant in your stance with the regency...yet are strong allies and...a friend...with Martin and Trinsic."

"Ditto was assassinated by the gods know who...a purple cloak, one that is like that of Martin's was found as well as Ditto remembering a man saying before she blacked out that it was a gift from Martin...Obviously this is too suspicious leading all too easily to Martin Willow. A person like Martin, with allies behind him that could very well oppose the regency...Then there is Ditto. My wife. What better way to get my attention without attacking me directly with little danger to themselves. I on the other hand am back to bring about Order to the realm...and might very well have a foothold in the regency soon...Something I am sure a good many would not wish to see because of my past history...And now what better way to get rid of two possible problems to whoever that did it. To get us to fight each other...These thoughts and reasons ofcourse I have already voiced to Martin."

Smiles down at the pawn in Spiritwood. "You are taxing my generosity and good nature my dear. And seemingly the one that voices her dislike of me the most...very foolish."

"You should not be so vocal dear lady. I did not like the way you treated Ditto as in saying she was lying in what happened to her and the implications towards Martin there is."

"Surprising how one that supposidly follows the virtues will blow up so easily towards Ditto and call us liers. A thing that makes me suspect that because of your ties to certain groups and your dislike of me...that you could have very well be the one to have someone assassinate my Wife and frame...or keep Martin busy until the regency strengthens."

"Funny though how at the last regency meeting, she was quick to deflect my questions to her about why she, was not the one telling the regent of the things Martin is up to, and instead it was Isk. What chaos do you try to raise..."

He grins and knocks over the pawn in Spiritwood. "I will not be surprised at all...that you even were the one to try and get rid of Queen Sarah...and was seemingly not to concerned with the fact that she was attacked at all..."

"Those opposing order shall have no room in this world...this new era that will soon be."

Turning at the sound of bed sheets ruffling, he see's Ditto stretch and sleeply blink her eyes. When resting upon him she smiles and say, "Morning cutie." Smiling to her in return I walk over to kiss her and get back under the cover's. I guess some time to rest and spend time with her would be good for both of us. After all the tricks that I put her through last night for her to stop drinking that wine...

**Melnibonean Wine: A thick black liquid. Has the aroma of honeysuckles and exotic spices. Not truely a wine but a liquid form of toxins used by Melnibones for both assassinations and drugged pleasure. A highly addictive hallucinagen. Currently outlawed in Dark Cove. Brought over to Sosaria by the assassins of Emperess Dr'maj in crates, in a long ago scheme to gain control of Ditto Armunn and destroy Tarothin Armunn, in an attempt to bring Melnibonean rule to a small piece of Sosaria. Though the plan failed, the rare wine still exists..**

*Twisted Hallucinations*

Tarothin had been in a foul mood. The attack on his wife had postponed much.
Ditto sat in the TM's Garden, leisurely sipping her melnibonean wine, and talking with a few friends. The wine had been giving her headaches and nosebleeds more frequently lately, but at the moment she could care less. Better the headache from the wine to replace the one the crazed, yelling woman, Savhanna had given her earlier. She would enjoy just a glass or two before returning home to await her husband, knowing that he would be anxious to learn how things went in Trinsic. He would not welcome the news, and the thought of it got her to absentmindedly gulp down half the contents of the glass at once. There was a slight afterthough that perhaps she should not have drank so much at once, especially since she'd be speaking to Tarothin later. She had once told him she would not drink the black wine again, but had never promised him, and so she drank it without his knowing...at least, she thought so. Tarothin had been observing his wife over the past few weeks, barely a night where she would come home sober. Her kisses tasteing of honeysuckles, and even more to his attention was the night before when she had climbed into bed with deep scratches on her legs that appeared self inflicted, while she mumbled thank-yous to Murdoc and someone named Vatkan.

Ditto chatted with Forrest at the Garden...or was it Cat she was speaking with. Her vision blurred and everyone seemed to move and speak so quickly. She hoped things would go to normal before Tarothin returned in a few hours. Just then a black hawk flew in and landed on her nose. Looking at it, crosseyed, Ditto took an offered note from the hawk's leg and focused all her attention on trying to read it. Her eyes widened. Tarothin was home much earlier than she had expected and already asking of the Trinsic visit. With a groan of dread and a throbbing headache, she concentrated to write her reply. Though her note to him may have appeared rushed, she wrote the basics of what had transpired clearly and sent the raven off. Moments later, another dark hawk. She and her guards were being summoned by Tarothin to meet him in Trinsic immediatly. Rising from her chair unsteadily, she casted spell after spell of blessings and and such in an attempt to sober herself up enough to travel.

Outside, after the meeting, Ditto was speaking with Nadia and Slash about returning to the Garden when Tarothin walked out. He already suspected something was amiss because of an incident in the meeting room a few minutes prior where he had angrily ordered her not to interrupt him. She had held her head up defiantly but said nothing...very unlike her, unless she was hiding something. Tarothin scanned his wife's face and noted a sudden panic reach her eyes as she tried to avoid meeting his gaze. She had seemed quite eager to return to the Garden for....for what? He knew his wife well, and it took only a moment to interrogate the truth out of her, and having Nadia help along the confession. Suspicions were over and now he had the proof. He began to get upset, and Ditto steadied herself to await his lecture, knowing full well it would only lead to a hostile argument with her lying to him that she wouldnt drink again. But, the expected lecture didn't come. Instead, he was calm. Much too calm. It seemed as though he'd gotten over his odd displeasure of her drinking the black wine. He suddenly then insisted that they both relax at the Garden over drinks. Both relieved and thrilled at the prospect of spending leisure time with her busy husband, Ditto smiled brightly and couldn't wait for their time together to just sit back and chat with friends. Tarothin seemed as happy as she, though his smiles didn't look quite right.

As he was stepping through the gate that lead to the Garden, he chatted on about drinking with Ditto. Drinking her black wine. Ditto's smile shattered as this thought. Tarothin, though infused with a daemon, was still human. Humans were known to be especially supceptable to the toxin, killing them near instantly after only a few small ounces. She couldn't let him drink it. He might be able to avoid the toxin with his regeneration. Might. It was a risk she was not willing to take. She ran into the gate after him and tried to reason with him, reminding him of the danger and telling him she would not risk his life. He told her, 'fine, she wouldn't be risking it. He would. ' And Tarothin happily went inside the Garden, searching all the counters for a bottle of the wine, easily and happily ignoring all of Ditto's attempts to stop him, and in the process, even managing to sneak a bottle out of her own pack.

He went outside and stood on the lawn. Ditto knew she couldnt stop him the way she was going about it so, she changed tactics and went outside with a half bottle from her pack in her hand. They exchanged a few words and both held their bottles up stubbornly. His eyes daring her. Then, after saying "cheers" to each other, they both down their bottles quickly. In drinking contests with the Orcs, Ditto could hold her own, but a half bottle of Melnibone wine ingested so quickly could possibly kil her. And Tarothin's full bottle would surely have a reaction on him as well, she reasoned.

Suddenly, Tarothin crouched over in pain...Ditto ran to him but he recalled away...Ditto, Nadia, Slash and Poet searched all over for him. The fear in Ditto's cloudy mind rising every moment that something terrible was happening to him. The wine started affecting Ditto and she followed an ogre around thinking it was her beloved Tarothin, til the ogre tried to kill her. Slash, who had stayed devotedly by her side, struck the ogre down and explained to the now half delusional lady that the ogre was in fact, not Tarothin. They continued their search for her husband. Nadia and Poet heading North, while Ditto and Slash went south into Dark Cove proper.

Finally, in Cove, by the bank, Slash & Ditto found Tarothin...he was naked & saying something that sounded like, "Look at the bunny, Ditto".

A small fluffy bunny rabbit seemed to be approaching him quickly, and then the bunny attacked her husband! It was her worse nightmare coming to life. A nightmare that haunted her dreams at night sometimes. Occassionally so bad so that Tarothin would wake up and have to soothe her tears and stroke her hair til she fell back to sleep. But, she wasn't asleep this time. There were no soft whispered words in her ear. There was just the violence of the attack.

The bunny rabbit & Taro wrestled feriously in the road of DarkCove. Ditto watched in horror, not believing her eyes, thinking it was a very bad hallucination. Bunnies had been her enemy for years, always trying to steal the eggs she cared about, and now one was trying to kill her beloved. Then, things took a worse turn and...the bunny rabbit slayed him. The Dark Knight was dead. She had lost her soldier, her beastie, her husband to ...a bunny. Suddenly, the ghost of Tarothin appeared and spoke to her & told her of the wine that killed him. Her wine. Ditto blamed herself and threw herself on top of his lifeless body, sobbing loudly.

Just when she thought she could not bare the pain of his death, Tarothin appeared beside her...alive and well and asking why she was there. It had all been what she had suspected....just a hallucination. She related the "hallucination" to Tarothin and how she didn't plan on drinking the black wine anymore. Tarothin then thought wine sounded pretty good, asking for a gate to the garden to have some of the wine she liked so much.

Ditto blinked. Wha? "Nevermind",he said, "he'd just drink right there in the road".
Again?? It was happening again?? She tried this time to be more physical in getting the wine from him because this time she knew he'd die, but Ditto failed again due to his strength, and he downed a bottle of black wine. Again. Crouched in pain. Again. Was gone. Again. The terrible scene played itself out again and the pain of losing Tarothin was just as strong...but this time....she blamed the wine. She hated the wine. Not the bunnies, not herself, but the wine. After another ghostly conversation. Tarothin appeared alive again but this time, Ditto was busy as she spoke. She was dumping her pack out and broke her last remaining bottle, across Tarothin's bones where he had "died". Tarothin smiled a secret smile of satisfaction and went about acting like she must have been "hallucinating", but was very pleased to hear that she had decided she would never drink the black wine again.

After relieving Slash of his duty, Tarothin then took his wife home with him and into their bed chamber. He listened with amusment as she rambled on saying that if for any reason she even thought about drinking it again, she would be sure she would have icecream instead....'perhaps though, it should just be with him.' Tarothin smiled the smile that had the power to make her knees feel weak and lowered his face to hers for an entrancing, gentle kiss that would begin a night of tenderness in an attempt to make up for the torture he had to put her through only moments before. But, the torture was meant to save her from herself and now he could finally trust that she would not be drinking the black drug.

Holding Ditto in his arms after he got back in bed that morning, she once again fell asleep quickly. Brushing the hair away and looking on her content face he smiled once more. Thinking back to what he did to her last night necessarily to make her stop drinking that which he knows is bad for her.

Stealing her wine, taking another bottle without her knowing that has the same shape as her's. Chugging normal alchohol to make her think he was drinking the melnibonean wine. Prettending to be in pain and then setting up a scenero that would...make sure she would not want the black liquid again.

It was painful to bring myself down to the point where my spirit leaves my body until my body heals itself and pulls my spirit back into it. And thankfully not as difficult to make Ditto believe the rabbit was killing me. I never will understand her hatred for the beasts. Thankfully through her hallucinations that when my body healed that I was able to slip away and walk to her like nothing happened, with her still thinking my body dead on the ground. Unfortunately I don't think she would have stopped if I had only done it once. Doing it twice and going through the pain was well worth making sure it impacted her fully. Making her believe even more in the...visions, she saw. Putting her through all that suffering was a necessary evil to make sure, she would not drink again.

I guess this curse of mine is useful in other ways as well.
