Dear Regent Thraxas,
First off, I'd like to thank you for the delicious feast you had prepared for the other evening. Gerard, the fella who joined me, was in awe as well. I won't lie, we debated on buring the crate on wine, in fear of poison. However, I put your trust above my worries, and it turned out to be worth it. Yew definitely makes fantastic wine.
I have given your offer some thought. I even ran it by my Warlords and discuss it with them. I've come up with a count offer. Either idea could serve in the immediately halt in war, saving more lives. You suggested:
If Blackmarsh can guarentee King Sid to hold his title in Yew Trammel, then we may be granted Yew Felucca. Blackmarsh would have to aid the King against anyone who attacks Yew Trammel, allowing him to stay King.
I told you at dinner, that I had no reason to shed more blood to guarentee he stays King. Your King abandoned your troops when you most needed him. He left his allies, high and dry, and unorganized to an attack. I'm not willing to risk the lives of -my- soldiers, to keep him in power.
However, this is my offer. Blackmarsh will guarentee that King Sid will be left as King in Yew Trammel. If given the lands peacefully, we will press no further from Yew Felucca in pursuit of the King. Blackmarsh also guarentees, to stay out of every battle that takes place in Yew Trammel. Regardless who attacks it and why, we will not aid them, nor will we attack it ourselves.
Even though we're not defending it for you, the offer of not having to worry about us on your door steps again, is superb. As we discussed, it's pointless for this battle to continue you. Your King Sid, doesn't care what happens to his troops and your allies. He's too stubborn, and would rather put his efforts into wasting my time, then charishing the lives of his soldiers and allies.
Propose this idea to your King. Let's hope he's as reasonable and efficient as you.
Sincerely,
Denzin Bracken,
Mayor of Blackmarsh _________________ BeastMaster (6:27 PM):

Having read the letter, Thraxas penned a brief reply and sent it by the same courier:
"Honorable Mayor Bracken,
I thank you for your timely reply. Your counter offer seems reasonable and I shall propose it to the King along with my intentions regarding the transition of Yew, Felucca to Blackmarsh. I hope this will permit us to conclude this distasteful episode and enable us to move toward a more mutually profitable relationship. If cool and sober-minded heads prevail, I am certain that will be the result.
In Sincerity,
Thraxas
Lord Regent of Yew" _________________ "If a criminal has what you want, you do business with him." |
