A courier sent from Lord Regent Thraxas arrives to deliver the following letter:

"Greetings Honorable and Esteemed Friend,

It with a great sense of urgency that I send you this missive and to earnestly solicit your aid.

Raiders and brigands from the East, from a place they call Blackmarsh, have threatened war upon Yew, specifically the Felucca facet. They intend to attack very soon. This is no ordinary pack of mindless barbarians intent on pillage and plunder. Their stated purpose is to assume control of the town, thereby stealing it from its rightful ruler, King Sid, lands long held by him bequeathed to him by Queen Lilyth Noir. This letter comes to you out of dire need for your assistance in repelling these attacks.

Yew has ever been a loyalist nation and has provided troops in defense of your lands in times of like need and peril. As a fellow Protectorate member, Loyalist, or ally, it is therefore your sworn and sacred duty to send what troops you may to help in our defense. For what does the word "Protectorate" signify if its very member nations refuse to lend aid to one another in protection of their lands?

The initial attack will likely appear from the far eastern region, somewhere near the Shrine of Justice, but the exact location of invasion is as yet unknown. The mustering of our forces will take place in Alderglen within forty-eight hours of this day.

Please reply to this letter as soon as you may. I will inform the King of it. Thence we shall be more able to organize an effective defense, knowing of a certainty the strength, or weakness, of our forces.

I bid you do your duty and quit yourselves like men and women of honor and courage.
