"Again! again!" the crowd of children around the young man shouted as he leaned back and laughed.

In the last few months since he had come to this village, he had become something of a local hero and entertainer of children.

With a snap of his fingers the man disappeared and reappeared behind the crowd. The man enjoyed using these little tricks to amuse the children of the village. All to often he had to use far more deadly magic against the raiding orc tribe of the area. The raids had died down of late, and these kids, for maybe the first time in their lives, were free to enjoy life.

The man still could not remember anything about his past. Despite knowing he was doing good helping these people, every so often something would pull at him, something that told him he was meant to do more.

As the smiling young man sent a fiery arrow into the distance and looked down at the children his gaze caught a young woman moving towards the village. He was sure he had never seen her before, but something inside him clicked.

Alexis began her normal ritual, starting by filling her packs with regents, and fastening her gorget around her neck. Next, she grabbed a lute, placing the straparound her body, resting against her back; a small flute, stuffed within the bag, and a very mangled mage book, which she crammed next to the flute. Last but not least, a runebook, a sextant and a map were shoved into the pack, and she was ready. A small humm from Replacement, her pack llama, had her turning her head.

"Not this one, Repe. It's too dangerous." She stated, her naturally gentle voice emitting no emotion as she gave the animal a bit of hay before leaving. She'd heard of a treasure quite a distance from her home, and she was unsure of exactly what monsters would be near it, possibly protecting it. Quickly throwing her blonde hair into a knot, she grabbed her ostard statue, and recalled.

From atop her now activated statue, Lexi surveyed the area. The map had hinted it was off near some odd orc fort. She noticed a village indicated and shook her head, trying to figure exactly where such a place could be. In the distance, she spotted what could have accounted as a fort of some sort, but from where she stood, it looked more like a little brown dot. She openned the map again, her eyes devouring the information as she tried to figure exactly where she was. Yep, she was still a distance, though from the marks indicated, her target was actually past the little village.

Well, I can avoid that crap, she thought, and headed slightly west, trying to avoid any orcs at all. She began humming, her mind wandering into thoughts of a tavern night. She shook her head and grimaced. Such memories were best left behind. She rode forward, making a wide arc around the orcs, prefering to reserve her reagents rather and avoid unecessary casting over a bunch of orcs. She spied the little village mentioned in the map and smiled to herself. Perhaps a relaxing moment at a tavern might be what's needed after such a long search. She sauntered into the city, putting her magical statue away. The sound of children laughing drew her attention. They were jumping on some poor warrior, who was showing off his simple magery for them. She snorted, a blue streak of hair floating free of her knot as she moved into the village, her eyes coming in full contact with the mage. As she stared every single emotion she had ever kept bottled up came forth. Her only thought at that moment was to do what felt right. Her fist connected firmly with his arm as every emotion she'd ever had came out into one simple phrase. "I thought you were dead!"
