Floating upon a void this continent drifted, only the bony shards of Gravewater Lake neither water nor life. Here it was that they lived connected by moongates to all.
Realms within realms, shards and nothing. Twin Cities beacons of Light and Dark, Day and Night though there was none here. Only in the minds of those that lived were days and nights created.
It was here that many battles had been forged, great wars throughout history. Great times of power and then the great fall of that power. So it ebbed and flowed thru time. Yet it gave one to wonder, would the new day bring another tiny piece of land lost to the abyss, floating within the void that surrounded them?
Were they fighting for grains of sands in a sieve...or something more worthwhile? Only the Strong Survive echoed lightly thru the room. Foolish to fight for land as it drifts idly away from us, uncontrollable and wild. Yet it was a cause that must be seen to its end. The wheels set in motion not even by their own hands. Dreams surrounded her and she tossed in her bed, restless, a cold sweat breaking out upon her forehead.
She awoke...
Her body did not move it lay immobilized within its bed the icy cold of the room growing as her mind drifted down stairs towards the door. It opened, creaking from the cold, icy air flowing from it washing over the house. Here, were her most prized relics of Umbra. The days of Glory within its halls, the Sepulchers hold still lightly felt within this room. Why? Because it housed a remnant of long ago...
Or at least it did... The Bone Harvester, the symbol of WIT one of her families last tie unto the Sepulcher, the blood shed upon it and its floor lay missing, its spot empty.
A roar trembled thru the house the dream vanishing the claws of her hands ripping the sheets as she tore from her bed down stairs to that self same door and opened it and there she witnessed the missing blade. She let out an angry howl it was as if she spoke to the entire valley and all the lands infinitely of her anger. She would recover it; they would scour every corner leaving no stone unturned.
This was a prize of her homeland; this was a prize of the Twin Matriarch that had once ruled there. The blood upon it shed upon the Sepulcher floor and she could still hear the echoes of her lost home even now.
She would find it, she would restore it. _________________ May destiny guide you... |
