Drayden was walking out of the hazy Tangled Web tavern. This had been an interesting night to say the least. Though none of his kin were seen at all, several of the locals had come through the quarter. It amused him that they thought there was some sort of meeting. As if his Matron had told him to spout their private dealings and affairs. The company was pleasant, and it felt good to be social. One starts to lose their mind after being hidden and forgotten for so long. There were definitely some surprises.....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortly after the first few guests had arrived, Drayden heard a disturbance outside and made his way to the large metal doors at the entrance to the tavern. He opened the door and instantly recognized the color of a Stonegate soldier. Apparently she wasn't alone either, as she had a smaller robed figure standing just behind her. Drayden stepped back, allowing them the room to enter and looked upon the female in the hooded robe.
She disappeared years ago...but none look like her. With pure white skin.
It was when she spoke, Drayden knew who she was.
The soldier looked at him and explained that Feyln had come to them looking for him. Thus she had escorted her here. The three spoke for a few moments more after a long embraced with his lost sibling. Drayden made sure the Stonegate escort was sent on her way
Feyln still lives. My opposite in so many ways....yet so much is the same.
The cunning drow knew that this could be a danger to both of them. There were enemies of the Matron and her followers that would exploit this as a weakness. After their stint in the tavern and the company they were around, he didn't feel right. Despite Drayden's complaints, Feyln was searching for their father. There was only one place that he knew she could see him...
"You can't stay here, I know where he is. I will cast a gate. But you shouldn't be here. Trust me."
After a brief hug Drayden sent her through the gate and moved off into the caverns near the Temple. He grasped his crossbow and slipped into the shadows, starting his nightly patrol. |
