"Everyone ends up in Moonglow eventually, best get it over with now." That's what the man had said.

Opening a Moongate to his home on Dagger Isle, Rizzen pondered the encounter with the strange old man.

A statement of pride or contempt? Must be the former. He was devoted that city and its peoples, that was clear enough. Few find contempt in what they hold dear and those who do, seek to destory it, not add to its strength.
Rizzen's internal monologue was often a place of sound wisdom.

Exiting the Moongate, he stood before Snowden; His home. His home that was paid for, built and designed by his eccentric housemate, Sara Delan. Rizzen found her tolerable, more so when and if she was distancing herself from him. Which, to Rizzen's dismay, was not as often as he might have liked. However, he needed a place to work and study and she had the means to offer him that.

Shaking the snow from his boots as he climbed the front steps, Rizzen caught a glimpse of the blue kilt he now wore. A blue kilt offset even more by the deep scarlet of the rest of his outfit.

Am I being petty, taking such distain in the city colors? Can the color a man wears really define who he is? ...No, but it displays his definition to his world.

The building's complete lack of doors on the first floors (aside from his) aggrivated Rizzen to no end, but he was not the one holding the deed. The cold of the wintery outside world blew in freely, bringing drifts of snow in with it. Pulling his cloak around his shoulders, Rizzen past the small workshop and tailor's and stopped in his tracks. Turning slowly, he spotted a dye tub on the floor, with several jars of dyes in varying colors. His eyes fell to the jar of red dye. He took a second look at his kilt. His blue kilt.

A man is not defined by his colors. Rizzen reassured himself and began walking to his room.

Still, I appriciate the lack of robe. Dreadful, that was. I must remember to thank the Mayor again for her kindness in that regard. She's a clever one. Smarter than she wants people to think, I imagine. She had wondrous insight about death and evil. Is killing in self defense evil? Isn't survival a requirement of all living things? At what point does survival become...

"RIZ?! That you?!"
Her shrill call came from upstairs. It was too late for an Invisibility spell. She'd hear him casting it. Tromping down the stairs, Sara came, green hair tied up behind her, swords and axes clattering on her back, wearing an excited grin that would make the most toothy alligator jealous.

"I thought I heard you coming out of one of those portal thin..." Sara's entire body grinded to a halt as she saw Rizzen. Her mouth hung agape as she looked confused and surprised at the same time.

She's speechless. What have I done? How can I be assured I'll be able to do it again? Her emerald eyes were fixated on his legs. His kilt.

"Wha... did... But that's..." As realization came over her, she inhaled deeply and the alligator grin reappeared. Rizzen sighed.

"Did you join Moonglow!? You did! I can't believe it! I told you you would enjoy it! OH! I have to introduce you to EVERYONE! I'll take you to all the best places and show you all the best people! You might even find someone you don't dispise!" Her boistrous laugher was like ground nightshade to Rizzen.

"And after you meet everyone we'll go hunting together. OH! OH! We can go to tavern nights together! You can escort me through those blue portals." Rizzen rubbed his eyes in exasperation. Ignoring the exicted girl, he began to head for his door.

"And you can show that Humanis guy who's boss, huh?! No one'll act so tough when Rizzen's around, right?! Yeah! You'll transform into that stoneman, or spring up some skeletons! That'll scare the pants off him!!" Rizzen slammed his door, practically in the girl's face. Though, he doubted she had even realized.

"It's okay! I guess you're pretty tired! That's okay! I'd be tired too after I joined the ranks of the best city ever! So, when are we going hunting together? You always get up so early and leave without saying anything. But not anymore! Right?! ... ...Right?! Sara pounded on the door several times. Apparently unsure if her voice carried through.

I'm going to regret this.

"OKAY! I'll see you tomorrow! I'll wake up at sunrise so we can head out together! Where do you usually go?! I go to the Painted Caves, personally, but I don't really care! We could go kill dragons, if you want, huh?! I hear the Cyclopses are a good challenge! Minotaurs maybe?! RIZ?! What do you think?! RIZ?!"

With a heavy sigh, Rizzen sat in his chair and pointed a finger at himself, inches from his face.

"In Zu"

"I hear the Cyclopses are a good challenge! Minotaurs maybe?! RIZ?! What do you think?! RIZ?!"

Sara began kicking the door, rather than pounding. Her hands were starting to get sore.

"Okay! I'll get to sleep then. We got a big day tomorrow! I should be fully rested, right?!" Sara waited several minutes for any sort of response. After she had come to the conclusion Rizzen must be planning their day together, she went back upstairs to climb into bed.

"I can't believe he's finally joined up. He never seemed like the type. Oh well, I guess people can always surprise you." Sara was more vocal than her more internal ally and spoke aloud to herself. She arrived at her room and plopped down on her big, fluffy bed and grabbed her stuffy dwagon, holding it to her chest.

"I wonder where we'll be going. Doom?" Sara shuttered at the thought. "That place is too weird for me. All demons and undead. Maybe we'll head down the way and just kill some local undead. Does Rizzen kill undead? He is a Necromancer after all. Maybe it'd be like killing a cousin or something."

She hopped off the bed and tossed the dwagon over her shoulder. She knew her room was right above Rizzen's. She jumped up and down heavily several times and shouted at the floor.

"RIZ?!""Would you kill undead?! I wouldn't mind it! See?!" She grabbed the Holy Sword she always kept under her pillow (just in case the undead from Deceit decided to launch a surprise attack in the night). She waved the sword around, not fully realizing Rizzen probably couldn't see her through the floor.

"What about demons?! You can summon them too, right?! Would they be okay to kill?! I don't think anyone likes demons, though! But you can summon elementals too, right?! This is really starting to cut into our available targets!! OH NO!" Sara realized the worst of the situation: Polymorphing.

"You can transform into stuff too! That's, like, EVERYTHING! Would it be okay if we killed something you can turn into?! What if..."

The whole house suddenly began to shake and tremble, causing Sara's weapons collection to fall into the floor.

A thunderous voice echoed throughout the entire house. "BE QUIET! GO TO SLEEP!"

Wide eyed and silent, Sara dove back into bed and under the covers, kicking the dwagon to the floor. It took her a while to get to sleep, but she did not say a word all night. She knew she'd get to talk to Rizzen enough tomorrow, when they went hunting together.
