Sell your houses... bank your gold and important stuff. Make a list of all the important stuff on the account.. character skills, age, stuff, gold and then close it. If you decide not to come back after x amount of time and still want to get rid of it, then do so. Seen too many folks quit and then have to completely restart, almost sabotaging any chance of them having fun if they return. IF you return you want to play and have fun, not grind character skills and kill mongbats for insurance gold.

I did that intentionally to keep myself from coming back. It is way too easy to come back if everything is sitting there waiting for you.

I wouldn't recommend doing what I did without sitting on it for at least a month as advised in the quoted post above.
