Alaundril found himself approaching a large castle this evening, luckily the patrons seemed to be in short supply. The old Drow was hardly one for the company of humans, especially when there was alcohol and an enclosed space. He shrugged it off and put his mind on the matters at hand, stupidity can be ignored. Though he was seeking some company this evening, he was seeking information in his time spent tonight. He found that these gatherings proved to be a good source of intelligence at times. Especially when the alcohol began flowing and people's lips became looser. After spending what seemed like months locked away in his cavern, he welcomed the chatter, the warmth and even a glass of this "whiskey" that he had taken a liking to after relieving Mr. Stark of his own. His booted feet carried him into the castle turned tavern.
Good. Only a few people, and none I recognize...except...that one.
He was amazed at how simply changing one's clothes could make one more appealing. He mentally noted the former Matriarch in one corner it even looked like a few Lotus Ninjas were here, though he couldn't be sure. After a short time and receiving his drink he made a call for ice to chill his whiskey, hoping that Ceinwyn would take the bait. It had been quite some time since he had spoken with her and the Drow found himself surprised that she still walked this realm. She came to his aid then, chilling his drink with her ice magic and sat with him at the small table he had chosen near the center of the tavern. He understood now why his son sought her counsel often, she wasn't as ugly as the other half breeds Alaundril had seen, a smart one for sure. But then again, Drayden was more like this woman than he would ever be.
Impure. Weakened by the surface.
The exchanged pleasantries and caught up on things that had been going on since they had seen each other last. She was not a Matriarch any longer, something Alaundril found some pleasure in. That did little to quell her strong personality.
All need to learn from desperate times. It teaches one how to be resourceful...cunning.
His ears caught parts of a conversation, he could tell by the accent who they were. He had spent far too much time watching Lotus Ninjas in the past to not recognize some of their more prominent officers. Apparently, Ceinwyn had caught the conversation as well and was making an exit. It amazed him how quickly things can change when the name Stone Gate is mentioned.
He took the moment to "exit" the tavern. As soon as he walked out he stepped around the corner and hid himself expertly and waited for the next patron to enter. The talk of mailbox bombs left and the idea of Stone Gate being involved interested him greatly. Especially since he would be the one to do such a task. It was so....amateur. Insulting to think that he would be silly enough to leave behind clues to point to his new home. His ways were not so obvious, the ways of the Sirah were not always so direct.
((This was relating to the tavern night last night. Anyone who was around feel free to post)) |
