Itannar closed the book and pushed it against a stack of ones like it on the table where he sat. He sat and pondered his discoveries, or rather lack of discoveries. The genealogical books on noble families of Yew he had been perusing for hours in this, the Britain Library, had lead him to a dead end... literally. The records only showed that Thraxanduril had been raised by foster parents in Yew, them bequeathing to him their nobility, plus an estate east of Yew near the Shrine of Justice. The records had recently been amended to include a half-sister, Lilyth Noir, the former Duchess and Queen of Yew. There was no mention of any other sibling, much less an identical twin.

He remembered Lady Noir when he had briefly served under her and Duke Kotare as the Sheriff of Yew. He had heard stories of the Duke's demise and her descent into a kind of spiritual madness, but that had been years ago. She had long since disappeared, likely taking upon herself the mantle of a religious hermit, but she might hold the answers he sought.

Locating her could be an insurmountable problem, but that was not what troubled him most...

What if she swears there were no other siblings?
