Just finished watching the season finale, Dave is like a typical British Columbian snowboarder. I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually hired ahead of time and the show was staged.
I'll get out to Whistler sometime and check out the Araxi and post a review if anyone else was following :o |

Way to spoil it for me! lol. i honestly din think Dave would win. i tend to record and watch a few at a time. I seen when it came down to three. Gotta admit, his resolve and desire to win shined bright through the whole series. |

*sigh* Disappointment. I was banking on Kevin winning, bummed that he didn't because of silly French Toast girl. Otherwise, congrats to Dave for winning even though I don't think it should have been him. |

Awwwww!!! How could you not think he deserved it!? You hear those nerve shattering "aaaggghs!" he uttered every time he lifted a heavy pan with his bum arm!?? Then the requisite talking to himself!? |

hah. Kevin was a better chef with a better menu and management skills. More respect for Kevin as he took alot of chances with his menu, whereas Dave played it safe most of the time.
Just was a little disappointed to see him get the win thats all. Maybe "deserve" is the wrong word. They both deserved it, but the fact that Dave was playing with a busted wrist shouldn't have gotten him the pity vote. Neither should have his first time at making Indian food.
hehe. Thats all. |

But on a side note and in Dave's defense. Kevin did totally blow it last night in the challenge and the service. |

I don't necessarily think Kevin is the better chef. His food was more pretentious, that's for sure. And I think that's what cost him the challenge, he was trying to add too many different elements. As a painter, I don't just go and use every single colour to make it prettier. I try and focus on a main theme. I think what Dave was doing was letting the taste of the food speak for itself rather than doctoring it up too much. |

I used to be forced to watch it as "punishment" when I'd let my temper get the best of me.

I used to watch it off and on, had no knowledge of this season, so I watched the latest Hulu had (second to last episode, I assume?) just to be informed. I like how he expressed his deep feelings for his girlfriend as something to the effect of, "Wow, I was like, totally worried about you. Awesome." The added sound effects were especially humorous - not only did they throw in a ridiculous cracking sound when they wanted to play up on his injury, but every time someone set a dish down, they used the same sound that Neverwinter Nights uses whenever you move or equip/unequip a helmet. Reminds me of the first Joe Millionaire, when they pasted all sorts of sounds together with cheesy porn music and subtitles to insinuate that she was uh, yeah.
Oh, cinematography. |

I used to be a chef by profession and in my opinion Kevin was a very good chef and would have done well doing contests and small upscale restaurants where they focus on food being better looking than tasting. Dave was THE rubbish.! He not only was a great chef on the line he knew how to take control and when to be angry and when to just encourage his team. Keeping his menu simple did not show that he was a bad chef in any way only smart. He capitalized on fast good tasting food and got done with the best reviews and GREAT time. The only thing that saved Kevin from a total disaster is the fact that when van puts his mind to it he could run every station at once. I loved this season and i was routing for Dave after the 3rd episode or so. im sure i could keep rambling but you probably got my point. |
