“Where is he?” Shihan Garrett asked obviously impatient. “I don’t know.” Micarlin answered. “He asked us to be here, he will be here…” Masaaki responded….”we just need to be patient.” Some time passes, apprehension runs thick through the air. Eventually the Soke walks into the room. He looked around the dark, dank area filled with stone furniture. He smiled a bit knowing the questions that must have been running through his men’s minds. Bishimi has never taken pride in keeping his elders in the dark but on this eve he could not help but to find humor in the situation.
“Why is it we meet Bishimi?” As always Garret being not only the first to speak but to disregard rank and be as blunt as one could be. “You normally only call us together on issues of importance, I am not aware of any such issues occurring now.” He finished with. “This is why I call this meeting Shihan…” Bishimi said with a grin as he took his place at the table. “..as you all know we have been holding trainings and some meetings with those of StoneGate.” The others nodded in understanding. Bishimi continued. “ In recent days I have been given information that tells these people may not be as reliable as we may have come to believe.” “I am afraid I am not sure how you mean Soke. They seem to be of good breed, and that was not a dog joke.” Masaaki chimed in with a grin.
“It has come to my attention that the men and women of StoneGate have been…less then honest with us.” The Soke continued “I am given the impression they use us as many of these other organizations have.” “Used?” Micarlin asked. “Hai..” Bishimi answered. “..only asked to intervene or aid when it is in their best interest. As hard as this is for me to believe it is not something I can dismiss so easily.” The others again nodded but with more thought then previously seeing the seriousness of the situation. Garrett even seemed to be at a loss for words “Then….perhaps we should be more careful in our dealings with them?” He asked. The Soke nodded and began to speak when Sandan Crawler entered the room. “Soke” he said as he bowed his head and rested on one knee. “You have a visitor, a man by the name of Logan, he said you would know who he is.” Bishimi nodded and motioned for his men to hide “Bring him to me Sandan, this should prove to be a most interesting conversation."
Meanwhile, in another part of the world
“Stand at attention!” The wolf King hollered. The men of StoneGate stood upright, all focusing their attention to him. “We are all aware of the situation with Umbra yes!?” “Yes sir!” the men responded. “We are all aware of our plans for these lands yes?!?” “Yes sir!” they responded again. “Good..” he begain “because we have much work to do and little time to do it in.” The king looked around the room at his people. Merci to his left, Willow and Malikhia to his right.
“In the days to come our resolve will be proven!” The king began “We will prove that these lands are ours and ours alone to rule!” He again looked to his left and saw Merci staring attentively but seemingly lost deep in thought, as if she viewed another place and time.. Then to his right to see Malikhia standing at attention and Willows hands dropped to her hips resting characteristically on them as the enforcers face was set with grim determination. “We have been in talks with the men of Zento” he continued “there is a chance they may be willing to work with us. By no means is this something I have come to rely on, but we will take any advantage we can get. The men of the Lotus are quite the force there is no way they can do anything but aid in our cause.” The men of StoneGate stood straight up looking at their lord hanging on every word he may speak. In the time to come..” he started but was quickly interrupted by Merci “Turmoil!” She hollered “I See trouble, war, fighting…death…”
Merci’s words rang deep within the hall. All know of the importance her words hold. The wolf king stopped speaking for a moment, even Malikhia and Willow were stooped in their tracks. The tension in the room ran deep, some may say it was thick enough to be cut, but all knew to not take Merci’s words lightly. There is not much that would bring these people to a halt, but the oracle’s words are among that list. The Hall remained quiet for a few moments when, as if by fate, a member of the lotus showed.
Soke Bishimi opened the doors and said but a few simple words.
“ We need to speak…” |

The group arrived in Trinsic, an odd band of people. A few mages, a couple tall armed females...
This is trinsic they set sail from here...
The blue haired woman stood her voice strong as they filed onto the boat. They set sail and the ship, called the Highwater II headed west. She spoke as the ship moved thru the waves the ocean spray covering them with its saltiness. The soldiers of Stonegate listening intently.
She nodded to Mal and they were whisked away from the boat, the gate opening to Gravewater lake. The desert was hot and dry as usual and the familiar sight of Gravewater lake brought a tinge of sadness to herself and willow. The WIT barracks had been close to here.
Peering out Merci explained the history of the lake and all it entailed, its importance to the continent of Malas. As they had been very well taught by Ceinwyn such knowledge should always be passed on.
Again another gate, and they were at the Grimmswind ruins, trudging across a bridge and ending at the fountain. The story progressed the historical tale growing more intrigueing.
They ended at the gates of Luna, staring up at her fortified walls, alot on the minds off all who had taken this journey with Merci. It was of the utmost important..It was good to know your history, the importance of landmarks and what came before you. '
Only fools ignore the past, learn nothing from it..
That night, the dream took her as a large wolf bounded across the lands of Malas. She could smell and see all that was around it, she stared out the wolf's eyes and her heart beat fast as did the wolf's.
It paused at a small pond, leaning its thirsty mouth down to drink. It is then that the eyes of the wolf caught sight of the light shining down upon a flower, this was no lily it was wholly different.
Up from the muddy depths this flower had bloomed, its tenacity and ferocity for life clear. The wolf didnt know what to make of this foreign plant, so with caution at its back, it turned away from it.
The further the wolf ran from the pond the more on its mind the flower weighed as it wondered if it should have turned away.. _________________ May destiny guide you... |
