...was the 3rd greatest time of my life!!!
[1] the birth of my little girl
[2] meeting my current fiance
[3] FIRST METALLICA CONCERT!
Man - it was SICK....seeds were center stage - i could see all the features of the band members and their gear.
played a blistering 2 hour set...near non-stop. The effects were awesome - especially during 'one' when they had small circles of fire on the stage blowing up like mines!
setlist (in no particular order)
--------------
that was just your life
end of the line
broken, beat & scarred
the day that never comes
all nightmare long
cyanide
no remorse
seek & destroy (encore)
hit the lights (encore)
ride the lightning
last caress (encore)
nothing else matters
enter sandman
sanitarium
master of puppets
blackened
one
extras
-------------
kirk solo medley
rob solo (engine running)
I believe i've gotten all of them - if I missed one, let me know.
nothing from load/reload or St.Anger which I was sad about. I really hoped for more from RTL - while getting a rare one like RTL was good, Fade to Black, Creeping Death and my god - For Whom the Bell Tolls was greatly missed.
For my first Metallica show - man, I will never forget the feeling when the lights dropped and the Ecstasy of Gold intro started. Adrenaline, goosebumps...these guys are my idols and i almost lost it...man, what a feeling! For those who haven't heard it:

That sounds awesome!!! I would love to see them in concert someday. It's cool that you got that chance. Metallica has always prided itself on their live performance as being the best compared to the recordings. They believe in giving your heart and blood to the stage and from the way you describe it, they did!!!! _________________ Ariana Lenoir[3:53 pm] She has all the subtlety of a rampaging elephant.

yeah - James definitely gives it his all....he wanted your energy, he is definitely the heart and soul of that band.
One thing that's kinda funny though is that as Kirk has gotten older, he must be starting to suffer form arthritis or something, his playing has really gotten sloppy...he can still play some sick lick, but he is definitely starting to struggle a bit _________________ To kill a non-believer tis not murder, tis the path to enlightenment...

Makes me feel old.
I saw thim for both their Master of Puppets tour and Justice for All tour. Seems soooooooo long ago.
Oh wait...that was 20 years ago.
It was a long time ago. I am old. *cries*
But it's good to see that they can still rock. _________________

*links arms* I'm old enough to remember those days too--had Kill Em All on *VINYL* til it no longer played. Yes, little ones, this generation's equivalent of wax tube recordings.
Also old enough to remember that 'Sanitarium' is actually 'Welcome Home'.
*bangs head...but not the cool oldschool way*
