Snow softly fell on the ground, she stared before her at a vast wonderland of white. She was never more in her element. There before her were familiar mountains, but they had the breath of youth upon them. Towering over the landscape casting shadows on the young valley.
They stood like a gate and indeed it seemed as if they were as they began to tremble splitting and breaking into a great doorway. A void much like the abyss that surrounded malas, swirling and tumbling began to open its hungry mouth sucking at the tender trees and plant life dragging her towards its large mouth.
She grabbed her sword slamming it into the ground deep, and holding tightly to it, wrapping her arms around it, though its blade cut mercilessly into the soft white flesh of them. She new she must hold on no matter the cost and as her armour tugged with an almost magnetic resonance against her she onehandedly shed it fast so that its weight would not drag her in. Now she was left only with her white shift and the force of the void strained at her body her eyes feeling as if they might tear from their sockets. Her metal armour flew quickly into the void then giving off a loud humming sound disapearing completely. She had seen this door before, but it had been smaller less powerful.
She did not want to enter it again. It was beleived by them all, from what they had seen, that this was one of the many doors into the underworld, that this void pulled you straight to the curtains of death. She held fast to her sword and finally, the gate calmed as if an unseen hand had shut it. There she saw the first sighting of His Ghostly Herald. It spoke to her though its lips did not move.
He comes...
She awoke then suddenly, the message delivered, and panting she tried desperately to draw on life giving air. Merci looked down her arms the marks of her grasping the sword, there for the moment, but slowly fading as if they had never been there....... _________________ May destiny guide you... |
