Sarian sat out front of the Blackmarsh Tavern & Inn. His back rested against the wall and his eyes closed. Relaxation, a rare commodity in the Infinite Company. Nothing could be sweeter than thi...

"SIR!" A voice screeched.

Sarian let out a heavy sigh and slowly opened his eyes. Before him stood a man in a zog green colored robe. His sandals were beaten up. His hair was long and his beard was a mess. In his hands he gripped a crook.

"What?" Sarian answered.

"Are you...are you Sarian?" The man began to grow excited.

"Uh.. Ya. You're going to need to back up, you're creepin me out."

"Oh! Sorry sir, sorry! I'm just a great fan of yours! Of the entire Infinite Mercenary Company! I heard your group resided in a small spot around these parts."

"Still creepin."

"I didn't come here to harass you sir! I merely came to offer my aid."

Sarian stood up and stretched his arms. He eyed the man briefly before replying. "And what exactly could you aid us with?"

"Well you see sir, I herd cattle! Blackmarsh is quickly becoming famous for their beef and their milk. I figured I could help keep your animals in line."

"Alright. Step into that room, magic tile to the left. Stay there until we get there." Sarian muttered and motioned towards the doors. He walked, unenthusiastically, to Cals house.

Knock, Knock, Knock.

Cal pulled open the massive steel doors of his new property on Blackmarsh.

"Somethin wrong Sarian?"

"Nope. Didn't disturb your diary writting did I?"

"Nah, just finished up."

"Good stuff. I got a fella at the Tavern in the contract room. He wants to work in Blackmarsh."

"Doin' what?"

"Herding cattle. Maybe even milking them."

"HOT DAMN! Lets go meet this fella!" Cal rushed out the door passed Sarian.

Herald stood in the middle of a closed off square, surrounded by stone tables. Gerard and Ragnar had joined Cal and Sarian in the contract room. Each of the four sat in the middle of their respected table. Cal and Sarian interviewed him.

"Name?" Cal asked

"Herald. Heral.." The herder began to talk.

"Profession?" Sarian cut him off.

Herald spun around to face the opposite direction, towards Sarian. "Herder, I told ya th..."

"Are you a stalker? Sarian said you're a fan of our work." Cal interrupted.

Herald spun around to face Cal. "No no! I just respect you're type of business an..."

"Do you expect to be paid alot?" Sarian cut him off.

Herald spun around to face Sarian. "No sir! I'll work for free. I'm not much of a fighter, I'd just like to be apar.."

"How are you with Unicorns?" Cal interrupted.

Herald spun around to face Cal. A bead of sweat dripped down his face. It was about this time he realized that Gerard and Ragnar were still starring at him. "Uh. I suppose Im alrig.."

"Hypothetically speaking. If there was a Unicorn in Blackmarsh..." Sarian began. Causing Herald to spin around yet again.

"Or two, humping for that matter." Cal said.

Herald half began to turn around again, before Sarian continued to speak.

"How would you go about ridding Blackmarsh of the problem?"

"I suppose..I'd try to calmly escort it away. But why would there ever be Unicorns in..."

"That's besides the point Herald." Cal interrupted him. Herald spun around to face Cal. He was breathing heavily now. This was the worst interview of life.

"One last question." Cal said. Herald nodded in agreement. "Can...you...milk...cows?"

"Why, yes. Yes I ca..."

"Hired!" Cal yelled. Herald stumbled back a bit.

"OH! Thank you sir! Thank you, all of you! You won't regret it!" Heralds grin covered his face.

"Hurry along and get to work." Sarian told him.

The four watched Herald rush out. They looked at one another. Sarian shrugged. Cal seemed pleased. Gerard merely grinned.

"What's that smile for Ger?" Ragnar tilted his head.

"I hope that a Unicorn comes by. I wanna see that raggedy man try to escort it out.."

All four chuckled.
