Merci d'Rue stood staring her bright blue eyes blazing into the side of Malic's head. Would that she had the gift of Malikhia to burn holes into the side of it with her very gaze. His foolish words, rash actions, and disrespectful interruption of the Wolf King had her hand on her hilt. Was this not the same man who had ridden to the Sepulcher many a time to court that well known vampire Ceinwyn? Were his beliefs only there when they suited him?

Merci was not afraid of the row of Sanctans lined up behind this foolish man. This fool who knew not even what his own King wanted, showing up out of no where and disparraging her homeland. Merci was loyal, she would fight to her bloody death for her people and so was every person in Stonegate.

Myrddin, took Malic's insult upon Lycans and Vampires, with the patience of true royalty cutting this foolish Sanctan to the quick in but a few words then returning to his speech. It was this that played a small smile across her lips and her body eased at once.

It was true that Sanctus and Umbra had always been enemies that the hard line views of Sanctus could afford no friendship between them. She could respect that. Yet at times when darkness pushed thru the caves towards Sanctus lands, when the white city of Luna stood as a last stopper to the people of Malas that such rash words, the place for making new enemies or carrying out personal agendas was idiocy and suicide.

Had this man no compassion for his own people? Did he not care about the dark cloud that settled closer and closer. Or was his rigidity to great that he would fall and drag his own kind with him. He was weak and blinded by his own desires, the weak would fall....
