My name's Andrea, and I'm 33 years old, even factoring in the year I turned 32 for the second time. The first time, I was 32 for two weeks before my mother corrected me, reminding me that I was only 31. I'm blonde. I love creating music, songs, poetry, and fiction. I work on the 3rd floor of a corporate prison, and I'm elated when I find the inspiration stand up from my chair and break into Lord of the Dance. Those who work on the second floor, I'm told, are somewhat less elated. I'm that one chick everyone knows they can come to if they need a good, hard laugh. I'm a hippie on nights and weekends. Sorta like some twisted cell phone plan, except there are hugs and live bluegrass instead of voicemail and a ringtone. English is my second language. Sarcasm is my first.

I am amazed, and yearn to become amazing.

I love the way the word "melancholy" feels in my mouth. I love the deep crimson warmth of sunlight through closed eyes, and the way my eyelashes feel when the breeze flutters them. I am in awe of a rescued shelter dog's ability to love, when so many people in this world lack that skill. I love drippy popcicles on scorching days, and the heaviness of clouds before a storm. I love the sparkling reflections of music in the darkness when a mockingbird cries for dawn. And I love the dawn: pure, unassuming, and hopeful--never fearing, never boastful--as it spills gently over my windowsill.

My husband loves to take pictures of me. I love my husband. I hate having my picture taken. But here you go, you ingrates. I hope you're happy.

Just me. No makeup or pretense.

Me again. New and improved! Now with more wine!
