Folded in half, and set upon the mantle above the fireplace in Hanse's, a note adorned with a large, black "Z."

Zeyla,

There is a joust tourney coming up, and I find my usual mare a tad too old and tempermental to ride in the lists. I know it is short notice, but if you could help me to find a suitably bred replacement that would fit my needs, I would be indebted.

You can leave word for me here, or at Sylvanian Hall.

Your Friend,
Arahim

Covered in dust and dirt, weary from countless days in the woods with her trusted horse Sombra, Zeyla found herself standing before the hearth at Hanse's, literally staring at the fire. After a long while, having taken mental inventory of the many bumps and bruises and scratches now adorning her sore body, she lifted her gaze to find the note. Without realizing it, she gave a weary little smile when she saw the stylized 'Z'. She read the note, and the smile became genuine. With that, she turned and sat at the table to pen a response, which she left with the innkeeper along with the request to deliver the note when next Arahim appeared in the hostelry. A trek into the tundra did not sound appetizing at all--the way her luck had been running she'd probably fall on the ice and hurt herself worse than she already was.

Arahim,

It would've been helpful to know just what kind of horse you were interested in, but I'll base my judgment on your current mare--she's a real beauty, even if she's getting aged. . .she's certainly served you well and true. I'll be sure to give her a checkup when I see you next. Took a little tumble in the woods earlier today and will probably be hanging around the hostel for a few days while I mend up so you can probably find me here if you happen by. Haven't even talked to the innkeeper yet to see if my usual room's even available. Either way I should be easy to find. Hope all's well.

Z
