She had expected to be once again asked to leave Sanctus, she accepted it. But, not without a bit of logical argument before she left. What she hadn't expected was Thraxas asking her to rule at his side in Yew.

She gazed up at him, in surprised silence. A glance around them at the very populated Hostel (though to give credit where 'twas due that was mostly thanks to the orcs, this eve), made her very much aware of an audience. Could the question not have been put to her in private? Swallowing down a bit more annoyance, a drink she had drunk very deeply of tonight, she bade him open a gate so they could continue the conversation elsewhere. As he did, she cast a forlorn glance toward Arakad, her husband.

She wondered if he would ever remember her or want her again.

Sighing, she stepped into the glowing oval of light, leaving the dark star-riddled sky and emerging in her native city of Trinsic. A questioning look at Thraxas and he explained how he knew she would want to come there. She smiled a bit at the irony of how thoughtful a demon could be, and led him to her new home just beyond the main gate.

Once safely within sealed stone and assured of privacy, they continued the discussion. He wanted her to rule at his side in Yew. King Sid was vacating his post for some unexplained reason, and naming Thraxas as his regent.

Ceinwyn told him of her plans, that she was on a personal path of redemption, and it seemed to anger him, greatly. He even claimed that she was an impostor, which inwardly she found amusing - who would want to be her? Sometimes, she even didn't. But, to offer proof she was no fake, she took on a commanding tone as she ordered him to listen as she explained. She felt responsible for the town, and he argued that she was responsible for him as well, having given him new life.

As the hour grew late they debated and talked, Thraxas seemed to not be hearing half of what she was saying. To calm him, she admitted that she did still care for him, but that she was married to a man who had forgotten her. Her admittance was taken with the utmost seriousness. But, what would have been a kiss worth mentioning became a kiss cut short as she pulled away, withholding what she felt was reserved for another.

As he left, she could not tell whether he was angry, sad, or disappointed. Perhaps even all three. She would speak with him another day, when her path was more determined. For now, she had a husband that she loved. She wondered how long his amnesia would continue, if he would ever remember her, and if he did would he cast her aside or welcome her, once again.

She had much to keep her mind busy, with the construction of Honor's Stand, just outside of Trinsic. It was from here that she would make her atonement. Those who felt they had need of redeeming were welcome to join her. There were plenty of letters to write to the leaders of Sosaria. She planned to eventually aid Trinsic in whatever manner she could. She had spent so many years planning a revenge against the city, to no avail. It had recently dawned on her that her efforts would be futile, anyway, as those who had wronged her centuries ago were now resting six feet under. Taking a different perspective on the situation had led her to a desire to protect the city, so that no other children would be forced to endure what she had.

She wondered how many others would accuse her of being an impostor. The damage to her mind that had been repaired, the change of heart, you could say, might actually have validated the accusation.

She gazed out into the moonlit forest of her childhood and took in the scent of the deep wood air. It was refreshing, and full of old and bitter memories. She had come full circle, it was time to start anew. As she turned to head indoors, she wondered if Arakad would continue to be a part of her life. Would he, too, have a change of heart?

Thraxas left the home of Ceinwyn reeling from the encounter. It had not gone as expected, and if astonishment were fatal, he would be thoroughly dead. She spoke of Arakad, but moreso a word that he had never uttered, a word that sounded quite like the ramblings of the Light Sworn: redemption.

"For what do you need redemption?!" he had asked her. She gave no clear answer. His mind spun and his words came forth like dead leaves ripped by gales in an autumn storm... and fell upon equally dead ears.

They parted in good company, or so he believed, but he knew things might never be the same; the care-free days were over. He had never felt insulted to play second fiddle to her husband, or anyone else, but to hear her go on about a path that diverged from his so widely, and that her heart was set upon it, would have driven a lesser man... a lesser being... insane. He could only assume she was out of her head, and that one day, hopefully soon, she would regain her senses.

In the meantime, he would be watching her. He knew there were those out to get her. It was a simple thing to send Harbinger to find Myrddin, the Wolf King of Stonegate, to request a meeting. He had a lot to ask for, but a lot to offer, and he would spare no expense to ensure that his erstwhile lover and creator lived long enough to wake up from her misguided dream and enjoy life with him once again.
