I got a question! Ok see I have a character that a lumberjack/fletching and i was woundering cause i been get oak logs and i dont know what you used them on , i tried making arrows , bolt of a oak log it wouldnt let me i try making a plain bow out of them wouldnt let me so i am clueless to what you used them for so if anyone knows please help me explain to me thanks!

I'm not sure I understand what the exact problem is that you're having but here's the general process:

1) Convert the logs to boards (you can't work directly with logs--they have to boards).
2) WHen you click your fletching tool you get a choice (in the lower left corner of the fletching tool window, If I remember right) to choose which wood you want to work with. You have to set that to Oak if you have oak boards that you want to make something out of.

Same goes for Carpentry. You basically have to tell your tool which boards to use. Smile

Yes, with any of the crafting you must choose the substance you are working with, tailor: spined horned barbed plain, smithing: iron shadow iron copper, etc. carpentry/bowyering: wood oak ash yew etc. There are a few limitations. If your tailoring skill is not high enough to work with a material, you can not use it. You may be able to cut it from the animal but that does not mean you can work it. The same with smithing. Your mining may be high enough but if smithing is too low you can not use it even if you can mine it. Wood is the same.
