Zen stood her lute in her hand and the Maestro before her. I have been told you sing well.

I can sing Maestro. *she curtsied as was customary*

We have a very important guest this day, and our star pupil is ill, his voice lost for now. Do you know any songs?

Aye Maestro...*She curtsied again* just a bit of a song my father taught me...

The man nodded, it will have to do.He raised his hand stopping her next curtsey. You will wear your knees.

She was ushered to a private room at the conservatory and a grand person in fancy silks sat upon a chair. Pillows and servants surrounding him. Zen curtsied. The Maestro gestured for her to begin.

She began acapella her voice pure and strong, but it was as if the music started up about her.....

Quote:

Long ago ran the sun on a folk who had a dream
And the heart and the will and the power:
They moved the earth; they carved the stone; moulded hill and channeled stream
That we might stand on the wide plains of Wiltshire

Now men asked who they were, how they built and wonder why
That they wrought standing stones of such size
What was done 'neath our shade? What was pray'ed for 'neath our skies
As we stood on the wyrd plains of Wiltshire

Oh what secrets we could tell if you'd listen and be still
Rid the stink and the noise from our skirts
But you haven't got the clue and I guess you never will
Mute we stand on the cold plains of Wiltshire

Still we loom in the mists as the ages roll away
And we say of our folk, "they are here!"
That they built us and they died and you'll not be knowing why
Save we stand on the bare plains of Wiltshire

Her song was done, and the people watching had fallen silent. Aye an old song indeed best remembered... her song carrying to those of her people... It was as if a million voices had sung with Zendella that day...

Stones.... Soon we will bring you peace.
