She knew she was going to get just as ill as Tati. Morio told her it was spreading through the air. She could already feel it.
Over the next couple days, dizziness came in huge waves, accompanied by blurred vision and loud, angry white noise ringing through her ears. Always freezing cold, teeth chattering, with sweat on her forehead. She tugged at her clothes which were making her skin ache. Fighting desperately with the desire to rip them all off and burn them in the fire. She slipped in and out of restless sleep, always awoken by terrible nightmares. She hadn't been allowed downstairs, or to leave the teahouse. Incase she would 'infect' the others. She huddled very alone and very ill, until the Soke showed up. Just as sick as her..
By the time the eve rolled around on Monday, people were showing up for the meeting. Communication devices were planted in the meeting room where Bishimi and Edda were. They were also planted in the dojo with the rest of the clan. All of them seemed to be healthy. Takumi was there. Edda's heart sunk into her stomach. She missed him so much and now he was so close. Just across the blossom covered path.
Soke started the meeting between coughs and catching his breath. After just a few minutes into the meeting, his sister, Ni'Xuin, was sent over from the dojo. The three of them sat in the meeting room. It was so cold and empty. Bishimi gave jobs to those in the dojo to fill in for him on matters of much importance. Another large bout of dizziness waved over Edda, as she swayed and closed her eyes. Soke told her to sit on the bench and rest. Automatically she obeyed, and was hit with shooting, burning, pins and needles all over the bottom half of her body.
Before long the clan was out and about, each with their job to do for the Soke and to help find the cure for whatever was being spread. The three headed downstairs and Edda huddled close to the fire. She could see Wang Chung standing guard not far from the door. Every once in a while she saw movement and heard muffled voices from outside. But everything was fuzzy.. and nothing felt right.
Just as another wave of dizziness was making its way onto Edda, two people came in. She opened and closed her eyes several times and tried to focus on the blurry figures. One was Garrett, for sure. The other she didn't recognize. She was a female. With dark hair and clothes.
"This girl by the fire, right here" Garrett barked at her.
"Edda.." He said "Take what she gives you"
The woman thrust a small bottle into Edda's shaking hands. Bishimi looked over.
The potion smelled absolutely revolting. This did not smell like anything that would ever make anyone healthy.
"Soke.." Edda creaked.
"Drink it, Edda" he replied
Again, she obeyed immediately. She downed the discusting moldy smelling potion in one swig. She choked and gagged on its nasty flavor.
They were all given one. As well as anyone who could have possibly come in contact with it. After talking with the woman for a few minutes she headed upstairs to try to focus on something other than the pain.
She thought about Takumi. She wondered if he would have to drink that potion. She imagined the look on his face after he drank it. She actually giggled a little, then winced with the pain of it. She laid down delicately, cringing with each movement and trying to ignore her now burning skin. She focused back on Takumi. When this was all done she wanted some apple pancakes. She smiled at the thought and drifted into another restless sleep, which was sure to be full of nightmares.
