The young Prince stood in front of the Sanctus formation as the last of the Protectorate forces departed. The Sanctus troops had performed well this night. Though they and the Protectorate had outnumbered the enemy by a large margin, the Sanctus troops had kept their heads and showed a high level of discipline.
 
“We will take the brunt of the retaliation from our enemies” Vian reminded his troops, not wanting their heads to get to big after this victory. “And more often than not, we will be alone in our fight.”
 
Vian knew that this war was not going to be like the short lived battles and wars he had faced since he had returned to the kingdom and joined the military. He knew this was to be on par with the wars of legend. Not only did the Lich Lord have his troops backing him, but he had many more. Vian had only read about armies of orcs in ages past, but tonight he had seen them on the battlefield with his own two eyes. Organized orcs were thought to be a thing of the past, they most assuredly were not. In addition to those forces, there were also drow sighted with the enemy. Vian had never really trusted orcs or drow, his suspicions had been proven correct tonight.
 
This new Shadow Conclave was at the gates of Sanctus.
 
Heroes of Light would be forged in this war.
