These were dark times for the Syndicate. Alaundril had to think back several centuries to recall a time where he felt it necessary to constantly be armed. Lately, it was common place, and he hardly had a second thought about keeping several knives and a Kryss on him at all times. All concealed expertly...from practice. It was with the same practice that he watched unseen, the collection of Umbrans gathering around. As he watched for the next few minutes more gathered, until roughly a dozen were present. Orcs, Undead, and a singular drow.
Quite a war party....and I see Calamyr even made it..
Given the recent events, Alaundril didn't doubt for a second the war party's destination.
The pressure had increased since the Lich Lord had moved in to Umbra and formed his alliance. The old drow felt that the pressure would only increase as the Protectorate gathered more and more to their ranks. The long list of enemies were those seeking him.
Alaundril stood and began to make his way stealthily through the Drow Quarter and out into the Desert. He needed to speak to The Boss. This simply could not wait.
He was waiting for him when Alaundril stormed in, closing the door and fastening several locks before looking to the counter in front of him. The Boss had a smile on his face. He always has that silly mask on....but I can tell he's smiling.
"It's too hot out there Boss. The reaver came back and now it's bloody raining."
"Calm down....you panic to easily."
"Panic? No, I just know when a site has produced enough. We need to get out of here Boss."
The Boss moved a gloved hand to his masked face, his eyes were a brighter red than he had ever seen before. The hood he wore covered most of his features. "Where are we to go? The others have slight chance of a profit gain in this, I would prefer to be in a less exposed position. And some good hardy protection would do wonders."
Alaundril nodded and looked out the window into the twilight of Umbra. "We have similar goals and ideals as the Lycans to the North, it would take us farther away and we would have a valuable ally."
A dark laughter came from The Boss then, "You are quite the busy one, I have read your Watcher's reports, thank you." He held out an envelope to Alaundril. "You are to open this and agree based on these terms. Then ready everyone to vacate our operations."
Alaundril nodded, "Yes, Boss."
He set out that evening to have a discussion with his friends, the Lycans. The Boss was making a bold move...and Alaundril hoped it with the proper move...

"So those are his orders?" Kinn asked, wanting to make sure he understood the situation correctly.

"Yes." Alaundril replied. "We are moving our operations to Stonegate."

Alaundril eyed Kinn's masked face, looking for any subtle sign of a reaction.

"Just our operations," Kinn asked "or is there more to this?"

Alaundril shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "You've said yourself how much you admire thier strength and thier organization. You've told the Boss that we needed to grow Sirah if we wanted to accomplish our goals. The Boss sees this as a more viable alternative."

Kinn nodded. "So we are not only going to operate from thier lands, but also under thier banner?"

The old Drow nodded.

"It is a wise move." Kinn said after appraising the situation for a moment. "It will confuse our enemies and offer us a fresh start in a well protected land."

"Not only that," Alaundril replied "but as long as we dedicate ourselves to defending Stonegate and allow the Wolf King to make use of our unique talents, we are promised both the protection of thier military might and access to their vast material wealth. You have seen thier mining operations yourself. They are up to thier eyeballs in gems and precious ore!"

Kinn could only shake his head and chuckle. "I should have known there was profit in this as well. The Boss certainly is crafty. In one move he finds us a new home abundant in both wealth and security. Genius."

ALaundril laughed and patted the Watcher on the shoulder.

"Come, my friend, we have packing to do." Alaundril looked Kinn up and down "And from the looks of things, we also need to go shopping. You won't last long in Stonegate with that flimsy cloak!"
